Optimal Group, Aka Optimal Payments Canadian Mail Scam Montreal, Canada Alberta

This is really getting out of hand! My wife got a letter about a month ago from Canada, claimin that we had won the British gaming comission random online lottery for the US. This one was supposed to pay out 80,000 USD. They sent a fradulant check for 2700 some odd dollars. But instead of having a canadian address and company from which the letter was sent on the check is had , Panasonic Ideas for life. We did contact the person on the letter who tried to assure us of the lagitimacy of this lottery. So we cahed the check but thank goodness for our good judgment in waiting until the check fully cleared before remiting any of our own money back to the ompany in Canada. Because the check did not clear.

This is now the second such scam we have recieved at the same address. I came in the very sam manor as the last one, this time it was from a company called Optimal group. Which if you look them up they are a real canadian and US company in charge of online gaming monetary exchange. However instead of having the check drafted from this company or a known affiliate they drafted the check from united states steel corporation in Pennsulvania. This did not sit right with me. This is a very real looking check, even Bank Of America had a hard time trying to prove it fruadulant. If you get this or anything like it take it to your local Police department!!! I don't know how this is still happening I feel as a Veteran of this countries military service that the Canadian government in conjunction with our own should be going after these induviduals with severe vengance as an act of financil terriorism on the people of this great nation.
