I went in and interviewed to become a "scout" for Options, and I do have to say - it did seem a bit shady. Hiring someone on the spot after a 15 second interview? Hmm... but I didn't say no right away, I came home, hopped on the handy dandy internet, and did some research. After researching, I decided it wasn't the gig for me, and just bagged off showing up all together.

Is it truly a "scam"? Probably, but I don't have hands down proof about it, so I can't say for sure, but I will say - after reading ALL of the complaints on this web site, the one thing I did notice was none of the rebuttals, none of the positive comments in general have been made by anyone who wasn't being paid by Options - ie... scouts, managers, etc...

What I would like to see is one, just one, positive comment made by someone who has gotten work strictly by belonging to this service. But that won't ever happen, because anyone can sign up, and say whatever they want to - which means employees of options can simply sign up, claim to be models, say they got work, and then BAM a positive piece of information...

Point being, if this is a legitimate outfit, and if people AREN'T being ripped off, then why all the negative press? Yes, I do understand, people get their hopes up, want to make the "big bucks", and they tend to overlook the facts. I personally would never fall for it if someone "scouted" me... but then again, I actually showed up and spent a whole afternoon listening to them talk about all the money I could make... My point?

It's easy to let money get in the way of opening your eyes and checking the facts. It's easy for our egos to get in the way of common sense. Scam? Probably - but people do need to remember to read the fine print... and....

Remeber the old adage.. "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is".

Options is new!

I agree with most of your statements. I am a new scout, and have been working wiht Options for about 1 week. I see where you are coming from but I see this is 2 different points.

1. We are trained for quality, not quantity, as some people say. My Office Director has specifically said what to look for, and they have to be height / weight proportionate, even features, good teeth, clear skin. This may include a lot of people--but look in magazine, all kinds. From good housekeeping to teen, there are all kinds of models out there. I personally attent open calls, and they do say "We do not guarantee any success whatsoever" they also say that is is a very tough industry to find work. We are all very honest. At least I know I am. I can see why people would be upset, but honestly, the concept of digital comp cards is a good one.

2. Also, Options only bought out emodels a few months ago. Options fired all the old staff (most of them) we are trying to build a very legit company now. It is just going ot be a while before we can overcome the old press.
