I went to see Orange Models a year ago. A person by the name of Tipu. He sounded very confused. Since the office looked so professional, I decided to come for there call back he had given me. Before I was leaving, he asked if I smoke, which I do, I decided to go down with him. He was very gentlemen like and more informative regarding his Company while having a cigeratte.
After 2 days when I returned, he told me , I have great potential for Modeling. Tipu showed me all the jobs he had gotten his models, which impressed me. But the catch to sign up with him, I had to $700 upfront for a Portfolio. I was a little turned off, but he persisted to use his own Photographer John Ortner, who after my research was charged for taking nude pics for under age girls!!! I should have done more research.
Later, after the shoot, 2 months passed by, and after my continuous calls, he never called back. I spoke to a guy called Alfonso, with an Accent. He had told me,we ares ending your pics to potential clients, but we are sorry, there are no call backs. I was furious as my Agent, Tipu didn't bother to talk to me. I further did my research, and realized they were only open for 2 or 3 months, when I sighed up with them. Tipu had mentioned,"Orange Models had been in business for 2years, and we have a branch in London UK."
After speaking to my cousin in UK, she had checked, it was a bogus address. There is no on site office on that location. I AM SO FURIOUS! I later found out, Tipu and Alfonso worked for LaCITE Models, who were charged for fraud under the Consumer Act Protection! People, please be aware of them, because there are lots of people who have been scammed by them. There are so many threads on them such as these:

I hope I can save you money. :(

Orange Model Management Inc. - Very Positive Experience

I have worked as a model for years, and I can say with great confidence that the author of the previous post may have had great intentions but is greatly misinformed about Orange Models and probably about most agencies.
Any agency and I mean ANY, whether it be Wilhemina, Elite, or Ford, charges you a yearly or monthly admin fee for their costs. Costs such as Fedex, Messenger Fees, etc. Any costs related to marketing a model are always billed back to the model with very rare exception. Check it out for yourself.
Call Elite or Ford and find out how much it cost to shoot with one of their photographers and to produce a set of comp cards. I think you will be surprised at what they tell.
To be honest, I think you through no fault of your own really are lacking in industry experience and wrote your post without doing a lot of research. Have you called 5 or 6 top agencies to research all of the fees and other issues you are complaining about? I would urge you to do so.
As far as I can see, Orange Model Management Inc. is a very reputable company. If you have any doubts check out the kind of jobs they have done or ask them about the clients they have worked with.
Folks, please do your research and let the facts speak for themselves.

This report is completely incorrect and misleading

As we all know, the internet is not governed by anyone and due to the non-governance of the Internet, anyone can write false, unsubstantiated and anonymous comments without the fear of being sued for libel and defamation.
Orange Model Management has been a victim of cyber-bullying via false and negative statements on different forums and complaint sites like this one. Bogus email accounts have been created by our competitors and disgruntled individuals who simply do not understand how the industry works. Because of this, we feel compelled to dispel the myths about our agency and openly state the true facts about Orange Model Management, such as our legal standing, where we operate from, how we work, who our clients are and our success stories.
Our legal standing is pristine as there have never been any legal complaints against us at a government agency and this fact is also supported by our good record at the Better Business Bureau. A clean and spotless legal record like ours is something that a few other companies could never boast about. Furthermore, Orange Model Management has never been associated with any organization or modeling agency involved in a wrongdoing. We work with various agencies around the world for International Placements, they have all proven reputable. Please visit our website http://www.orangemodels.ca for more details.
We operate from two locations, one in Toronto, Canada and the second in London, U.K. Founded in 2006, Orange Model Management, Toronto, is a full-service agency that represents male and female models and actors between the ages of three to seventy. Our models and talent have worked with all major players in the fashion and film industry, booking local and international projects. Our models have done campaigns for brands like Guess, Dior, CK, Chanel, and also walked the runways in China, Korea, Japan, Greece, Hong Kong, Milan etc. For references to these jobs please check out the following links:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Orange-Model-Management-Inc/5964403745?v=wall&viewas=0
The claim that we dont have an office in London is false; the London office has been in business for the past three years. The staff at this location does not maintain a local roster but rather facilitates promoting our international fashion roster to the European market. However, due to the economic situation in Europe we are considering the option of moving our London office unless the global economy picks-up soon.
Our agency has a great reputation with our clients and this includes magazine editors, casting directors, ad-agencies and production companies, who have referred their family members to us; in fact, the majority of models we audition come from referrals. So we must be doing something right.
As to how we work, we do so just like an employment agency exclusive to models and talent. This means that we are the intermediary between the clients and the models/actors and that our job is to promote and represent our models and talent.
If a model has their own promotional material, including their own portfolio, and is experienced, agencies like us are more inclined to start you up for free. In certain cases, we do help aspiring models by covering some of the cost of their promotional materials but this is a business decision made on a case by case basis.
If a model is already equipped with the aforementioned, we only charge commission which is deducted from the jobs our models do. To be a model, you must be able to invest in yourself, as if starting your own business. In order to be a professional model you need proper tools like professional photos, composite cards, and a modeling portfolio. If prospective models do not have these tools, they must then pay for the printing of their composite cards and/or 8 x 10's, couriers and charges incurred for casting services.
We do not guarantee jobs or auditions. Our job is to submit our models and talent to clients and it is up to the client to choose who they want to book. Young and new models sometimes do not understand that it can take a long time to get going in the business. An agency cannot be blamed for someone not getting enough work, especially in these economic times. Clients are extremely careful with whom they choose. Unfortunately, what is beyond our control is that some models will be more successful than others.
Orange Models does not represent or indorse any single photographer. While we work with industry leading photographers, stylists and make-ups artists, we cannot vouch for anyone specific; their personal life is their own. John the photographer, who is mentioned in the post, does photo-shoots for many Canadian designers, magazines and agencies like NAM, Velloci and NEXT, just to name a few. Like these agencies, we are not responsible for what he does in his personal life. However, we have since, for the last three years, stopped working with said photographer and are in the practice of doing background checks on anyone with whom we work with for extended periods of time.
In addition, if you were to search for reputable agencies such as Ford, Elite and Trump models, on this very site, or Google them, you will see the same types of accusations and complaints, all anonymous, made by those who clearly do not understand the industry.
In closing, I would like to say that Orange Model Management is one of Torontos most prestigious agencies; we have an excellent track record with our models and clients. We represent many individuals, all ages, with great success stories, from hit TV series, music videos, to many commercials and catalogues. Within the past five years, our models have successfully booked more than 3250 jobs, have attended approximately 14,000 castings and we have placed more than 55 models on international assignments around the world with more to come. Please visit our website http://www.orangemodels.ca for more details.
If anyone believes that the negative posts have any validity then we wish you well in your future endeavors, however our motto has always been that constructive criticism is the best way to improve our organization and is the only way to success, so we would like to invite you to call us, feel free to drop in and visit our agency or visit our website on details about or jobs and success stories.
