Orchard Bank Credit Card - HSBC - Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Company Payment Posting Ripoff and Rush Payment Ripoff Salinas California

On my Orchard Bank credit card statement dated March 11, 2008, my statement reflected that a payment of $32 was due on Saturday, April 5, 2008. On Thursday, April 3, I went online to make a payment of $100. When it came time to post the payment date I would like to use, it would not allow me to post April 3, 4, 5 or 6. The soonest date it would allow me to post my payment was for Monday, April 7. This made no sense to me, so I called Orchard Bank. They informed me that I could pay them something like $15 to accept the payment over the phone and it would be posted as paid right then on the 3rd of April. I had a fit. I had been offered online a "Rush" payment that would be posted for the 3rd if I aggreed to pay a "Rush" payment fee of $12.95. This was all so absurd to me being that the date was the 3rd, my payment was not due until the 5th, and the system would not post my payment until the 7th, but they could "RUSH" post it for me for $12.95 online or $15 on phone. There is definitely something underhanded and surely illegal about this.

In truth, I pay them interest and then have to PAY THEM TO DO THEIR JOB TOO!!

I own my own business. If I were a deceitful, underhanded, dishonest, greedy, non-appreciative business person, this would be a great gimmick for taking advantage of others to line my pocket. I may not be a mulit-million dollar business, and may be a small fry, but I can at least say "Thank you God for making me an honest, hard working person who does not want what I have not earned...and thank you for letting me do what I can to service my customers without expecting them to PAY ME to DO MY JOB!"

SHAME, SHAME, SHAME ON YOU ORCHARD BANK/HSBC/HONG KONG SHANGHAI BANKING COMPANY!! By the way, might you even know what is the definition of shame? Evidently not. So much for honorable people.
