I answered an ad in the newspaper to perform data entry from home. When I contacted the company I was told of a membership fee. Initially I was reluctant to pay the fee but three conversations later (with two friends calling and receiving the same information), I decided to pay the fee and received a package 2 weeks later.

I was initially told that I would receive a disk with the name of 25 companies on it. These companies have all used Ordian in the past and have requested that Ordian find them an employee to fulfill their outsourcing needs. It was presented that Ordian was a placement agency. All I would need to do was contact the company, complete a W-4, and begin work. I would be paid $12-$17 per hour and paid weekly by the company that I was outsourcing.

When the package arrived it included a DBA form and indicated that I would have to start my own business. It also stated that I had to send my resume to the companies listed and waited 14 days to hear from them. I could not use Ordian's name when talking to the companies.

Of the 50 resumes that I mailed out, 75% were returned to me. I was provided with the wrong address. I also called several of the companies and all (100%) stated they have never heard of Ordian much less used them for their outsourcing needs. In fact, they did not outsource any of their work.

I contacted Ordian and the hell began. It was like pulling teeth to get any information out of the employees. They would not provide a mailing address, email/website address, employee names, federal tax id#. Initially the customer service rep that I spoke with, Amy, stated that I was a disgruntled and would not cooperate. She stated that I could return the disk and they would check into the incorrect information and return me an updated one. I informed her that I was misled and did not appreciate it. She eventually told me that I could return the entire package and receive a refund.

A month later, still no refund. I contacted the company again and spoke with the head of Customer Service. He informed me that I have no right to complain because I was receiving a refund. He also stated that there is a disclaimer in the recording that states "provides information". This absolves the company of any wrong doing. He also stated that if I chose to pursue this issue he would have to take different measures than the refund.

I was initially told that there was a website but it was down for updating (company cannot be found through google) then the supervisor told me there was no website. I was told by the original rep (Irene Davis) that the company had been in business for over 3 years but the supervisor told me it was a relatively new company (only a few months old). When I called him on it, he stated that the company sells several different products and that his employees are sales people. He also stated that they will say anything to close a sale.

The company states they gave me a refund on 12-16-05 but I have yet to see it posted to my account. Whenever I call there is not anyone available in customer service and the hours are always changing.

PLEASE!!!! Don't let this happen to you. Don't give any money up front for membership fees or list or anything else when looking for a stay at home job. All I wanted to do was find a second job that I can do at home (I have 3 small children) to supplement our income. I did not have the money to put up front. We are in a bad financial situation and I was completely taken advantage of.

I WANT THIS COMPANY DEALT WITH AND TAKEN OUT OF BUSINESS SO NO ONE ELSE WILL BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF!!!

New information/ have a physcial address

AUTHOR: Anna - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 25, 2006

I too have been had by Ordian and believed against my better judgement that this was a good investment. But for anyone out there I have an actual physcial address because I would not give my credit card information to them now would I give them a check. I sent a money order and told them I would send it by UPS and I needed a street address. I have 23704 ElToro Road #5-347 Lake Forest California 92630. I hope this helps someone. I talked to a lady named Amy Brenon at ext 131. I have sent my package back UPS and have documentation that it has been recieved. I will follow this closely and I will get my money back.

I know how you feel

Stephanie, I wished that I found this website about a month ago and I would not be in the same boat as you! Everything that you mentioned in your report sounds exactly what I have heard from them. You think that you are going to get work through them, but you don't. I am about to return everything that I have received from them, so I am hoping that I do not get the run around from them also!

Refund received

AUTHOR: Stephanie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 11, 2006

I called the company again yesterday and inquired about my refund. The lady I spoke with gave me the run around again. She refused to provide an address again ("The address is for members only"). This morning I checked my account and guess what, there was my refund. I still think/know this company is fraudulant and I still am going to pursue charges with FTC and whatever other avenues I can find. Any suggestions?

#1 Consumer Suggestion

YOU WILL NOT GET A REFUND

AUTHOR: Dave - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 10, 2006

Wake up.. This is one of the oldest scams in the world - Work From Home - and you have been duped. The reason they keep dragging their feet is so it will be too late for you to go to your bank or credit card company and do a chargeback.

If I were you, I would do that immediately, even if it has been over 60 days... They won't refund your money - you have to take the initiative and start the charge-back process.
