We ordered a bunch of stuff from Oriental Trading Company on June 29, 2009 and paid $40 for 2nd day shipping. We needed the stuff for a 4th of July parade and thought that 2nd day shipping would get us our package no later than Thursday, July 2.
When Thursday rolled around and the package did not arrive, we called OTC to figure out when our package would arrive. We learned that they do not honor their shipping dates and that the package wouldn't be going out until Friday, July 3. We asked that the order be canceled and were assured that it would be canceled. Since the charge was not showing up against our checking account, we thought everything was take care of.
We left town on Saturday and returned on Monday, July 6. Lo and behold, the package was there waiting for us. They did not cancel the order, they shipped it. The box was the size of a s****.>
We opened the box to find the return label and affixed it to the box. Then we went to FedEx (the original shipper) to refuse and return the package. They told us we had to go to the USPS because OTC doesn't pay for FedEx returns. So we went to the USPS and they told us that the label provided by OTC required us to pay return shipping.
We called OTC and they assured us that they would email us the proper return label. It's been 48 hours and we are still waiting.
From beginning to end, Oriental Trading Company has lied to us, over charged us, and been nothing but dishonest.
