To further aide THEIR DECEPTION, they give this BOGUS FEE an official sounding name. They could just add the increased profit to the price, but that would require HONESTY and INTEGRITY. What you have experienced is more proof positive the fraud and deception has now permeated the shop. If you are getting this scheduled maintenance done to protect warranty coverage, you and every reader NEEDS TO KNOW, as per the Magnuson-Moss Act, you can get this scheduled service done ANYWHERE or even do it yourself and the warranty will NOT be voided! Do you understand that? Find yourself a good independent shop and get your work done there. You will find an abscence of price gouging, mechanics of much higher skill rather than parts changers, honesty, integrity and much better customer service! When you go to a dealership for service, you are opening the door to being victimized by still another bunch of pond scum with a vocabulary which does not include "honesty" and "integrity".
