Over the Road Transportation Inc./Richard Meyers Over the Road Transportation Inc. Warning to Onwer/Operators and possible customers Mississauga, Ontario

I would like to make a few corrections; first of all I was not an employee. If I was an employee I would have been protected by the Ontario Labour Board. There would have been consequences for the intimation and bullying that I endured and the employer would have be made to pay the employee for the wages that they earned. Unfortunately I was an owner/operator; the Ontario Labour Board does not protect us. It is up to the individual to watch out for unsatisfactory carriers such as Over the Road Transportation Inc.

Moving on, I will not waste my time justifying these false allegations. However, I do have one interesting point to make. If I was as bad of an operator as Mr. Meyers as made me out to be, dont you think that he would have been happy that I left, whether I have given notice or not??? I can only guess that he is pissed off with me. He has made repeated phone calls to me for posting my compliant, he intimated me some more and also threaten me if I didnt remove it.

This web site has been designed for folks that have been ripped off hence Rip off Report and that is why I made my complaint. Other than that, I have better things to do.

This has been a huge learning experience for me, I have cut my losses and moved on I recommend that Mr. Meyers do the same. Learn from this experience, respect your drivers, pay them and be the HERO that you are trying to betray yourself as.

Owner/operators in order to protect your livelihood and families, it is your responsibility to watch out for unsatisfactory carriers and trucking companies before you do business with them. Research them, ask questions, talk to fellow drivers, other trucking companies, leasing companies, insurance companies, truck mechanics, truck dealers, the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario, which is public information. Ask the Department of Transportation in the U.S., custom brokers, hell even the Border crossing officers know the reputations of these companies.

 No employee or contractor should every, be bullied or intimated in the workplace, especially when they just want the money that they have worked for.

 Good Luck to all the drivers that have been burned by these people.

This employee who has filed the complaint against us failed to include that she quit with out notice leaving us with out a driver for a load already committed to, an employee who destroyed private property in a temper tantrum! This is a driver who seems to always have issues with not only her dispatchers but with the shippers and receivers as well. The same driver who writes derogatory comments about the shipper or receivers on the Customers copy of the bill of lading. 

This is the same driver who, in order to get her attention had to place a stop payment on one of her cheques to speak to her with regard to slanderous remarks she was making to our customers.

We are extremely fair to our contractors, to the point of advancing them monies towards future earnings so that they can make ends meet. We help our contractors by fueling up for them when they go out when they should be paying for the fuel themsleves. We bend over backwards to work with our contractors. There is always going to be one who is not happy, I guess this is the one.

Not a rebuttal just a revision of the title.
