Wow what a scam. This company is sure quick to sell you your service but as soon as it was installed, it did not work properly. They wouldn't answer any calls regarding the crappy service for over a week and a half. It took over a week and a half to get someone out to fix the mispositioned, dented dish they put up. Oh yeah, and did they say free trial? Well if you try to cancel your trial you better be able take down the dish and all of its parts. Hopefully you are not elderly and it is not on your roof or you will have to pay the $100 fee for them to come and get it. Hopefully you don't want WIFI also because the modem that comes with the HUGHES net set up won't do that for you. You have to buy a $75 router that has a 2 year warranty with it. (NOT) so if you cancel, do you think you get your money back for that? NOPE, not even a phone call from this horribly run home-based satellite "provider". Shoddy. Scam. Ridiculous.

Ozark Satellite and Hughes Net are Crooks

AUTHOR: Jackie - (United States)

POSTED: Saturday, August 18, 2018

In July of 2018 my parents upgraded their Dish Network package to the Hopper system. At that time Dish suggested that they get highspeed internet because Dish system needed wifi to function properly and at the time all my parents had was a small Hotspot from Verizon.

Modern internet tech isn't something that my parents keep up with. They have worked hard all there lives and honestly it isn't something that they need or really care about. I handled the business for them and the lady from Hughes Net had all the right answers for my questions and it was actually a pretty good deal. Unfortunately she failed to mention that our area of Missouri hasn't been working properly for the entire year of 2018 BUT, the technicians wwere HOPEFUL, that it would be fixed by the end of August but, what does HOPEFUL mean?

The technician from Ozark Satellite showed with 5 mins to spare in his 4 hour time window and did an extremely shitty job. He failed to ground the system, he left an extreme mess of wires under the house which is a nightmare when it comes time to winterize our home, and he failed to close the crawlspace which resulted in our dog becoming stuck under our house.

From day one we had absolutely ZERO use of the Hughes Net service that Ozark Satellite installed for us. You could use 1 tv or 1 computer at a time and that was it. That wasn't what we were paying over $150 total a month for. So after a month of waiting and being hopeful that the Hughes Net techs would fix the system my parents canceled their service. That is when it all went to s**t.

My father is disabled and is helping take care of his brother who is dying of Multiple Myeloma and I am in an electric wheelchair. I requested from Hughes Net to have a technician come to my home and remove the dish that Ozark Satellite placed on my house because the last time I tried to climb a ladder it really didn't go that great.........

After fighting with Hughes Net for more than an hour they agreed to send someone out. They were suppose to arrive on Aug 10, 2018 but, the tech called claiming to have truck trouble. Instead of making a new plan the tech completely blew us off and called Hughes Net and confirmed with them that he had completed his job as requested!!

I called Hughes Net a few days later to see what happen and they argued with me and insinuated that I was a liar and that since I was in a wheelchair maybe I couldn't make it outside to check and see that it wasn't there all because the Ozark Satellite tech had called with a job confirmation. There is nothing I hate more than to be called a liar! After a long talk with Hughes Net they set another time for another Ozark Satellite tech to come out today on Aug 18, 2018, and again they didn't show or call. After being put on hold the lady from Hughes Net threw their own team under the bus and told me they have no faith in their technician team and will not pay for another service provider since they can't seem to show up and do their job. The grand idea from Hughes Net is to just leave the giant eye sore of a satellite dish that nobody wants and that nobody can use on my parents house.

To Ozark Satellite and Hughes Net, I have all the case numbers to back up my story if you would like to dispute it. Do not do business with these people.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Vulgar, profane threatening customer

AUTHOR: jeff - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, August 06, 2015

WOW!! so let me start by stating some actual facts.

Ozark satellite has been in business for 15 yrs. we complete 300-400 installs per month. We are the Central region and Western region dealer of the year 2 yrs running as well as #1 in the country for churn, which means we have happy customers who stay with our service who a long time.  In addition I sit on the Hughes retail advisory board as well as a member of chamber of commerce. our service has BBB rating of A+ and is the #1 satellite internet provider in the WORLD

In 15 years we have NEVER had a customer as vulgar, profane, and threatining as the FISHERS of Forsyth, Missouri.

The service was hooked up and within 3 days they were calling unhappy with service. We sent a tech out to evaluate and he determined that the reflector of dish was slightly warped and it was replaced. The service was tested, it was performing at nearly double the speeds that customer was promised. Very typical for our service.  Tech stated that customer was very vulgar and was on profanity laced rant the entire time he was there about the service, our company,Hughesnet,  and having to buy a router (which was explained to her from very beginning and eagerly wrote a check for)

Customer called again within a week complaining that it was not working. So again we dispatched another (different tech as 1st one declined to return). This time it was determined that nothing was wrong with service, customer had just exceded their data limit watching movies on her phone, which in turn slows down speeds. This news was apparently more than Mr. Fisher could take and he took up right were his wife left off with the profanity and even escalating to threats of violence. Tech was uncomfortable with situation, got in his truck and left.

The phones calls,  complaints, and threats continued (up to 20-25 per day at all hours) and cx was referred to Hughes directly as none of our staff or techs were comfortable dealing with these customers further. Hughes quickly became feedup with cx's antics and cx was cancelled. A return box was sent to customer to place 2 small parts in and return and be done.  But the Fishers werent going out that gracefully as evidenced by this BS complaint.

Never in 15 years in the satellite business have we encountered just plain NASTY individuals as the FISHERS.  1st time ever our office staff had to block a cx's phone number. sad there are people out there like that.

So we will continue to provide the highest quality of service to our cx's and we'll count our blessings and hope we dont run into someone like them again for another 15 years.
