When My son provided a PC for my wife and I ( He is from out of state and not familar with this area)He being more knowledgable with the computer undertook to sign us on with Pa.net.
He told the person at the office That we wanted to be signed on same as my daughter who lives down stairs in the same building and has an account with PAdotNET. Carlisle, Pa We have a number that is local to Carlisle a 776 Newville number, but our address is Shippensburg. What they did was: sign us on by our address instead of out telephone number...If they knew the difference when they signes up my daughter, they why did the go ahead and sign me up long distance?
My wife and I, being computer illerate found out later on that they had signed us up with Chambersburg Pa which is long distance, and the bill was $400 before we knew this had happened.
We contacted this company and they said tough turkey. We had no recourse except to fight it out with Sprint telephone co. who has profited by the error and have shone no mercy what so ever. Fact is today my wife spent 2 hours being bumped around from one stone wall to another. You see we finally went on and paid the $400 to Sprint but they have not restored our long distance to date.
We are still being ripped of by both companies.
It is awfully hard for us to go through all this, My wife just came through open heart valve replacement a few months back and both of us are in our late sixties.
