Do NOT waste your money!!  You're promised all the hope in the world, because he is usually a person's last resort, and that you'll have personalized sessions, yet he doesn't want to know a thing about you!

You're given cassette tapes and the messages are all the same, every time you go in.  There's nothing personal about it and really no hypnosis involved.  You're in a room by yourself (because he LEAVES to do the same to everyone else that's there), with a pair of dark glasses and a cassette player.

Then, because he knows you won't be happy, they hide behind a "no refund" policy that they don't bother to tell you about in the consultation and they don't bother tell you what your sessions will cost until you go to pay.  (Which is where the lightly-printed "no refund" policy shows up; on the receipt, AFTER they've run your card!! It's very deceptive!!)

He doesn't bother to deal with you at all, unless you're in the office for an appointment.  And then you see him for all of about 2 minutes, if that.  You refuse to go to your remaining sessions because it doesn't work and some lady you never meet starts to "deal" with you and refuse to refund money for the unused sessions.

Do yourself a favor and stay FAR away from this "business".  They're a complete rip-off.  They only want your money.  However, if you ask me, the fact that he doesn't even deliver what he promises, his "no refund" policy is invalid.

Dan Vitchoff gets friends and associates to post false reviews and comments

AUTHOR: Sandy - (United States)

POSTED: Saturday, December 30, 2023

This is most likely a rebuttal filed by one of Dan's friends and/or associates. That's how he rolls. On Yelp PA Hypnosis Center had several reviews by "Catie D." I did a little research and quickly discovered that she was a "hypnotist" herself and had worked at PA Hypnosis Center. I even got Yelp to remove her reviews after verifying that. Then she messaged me threatening legal action because iI had used "Catie D" (her public Yelp profile name) in my responses.

Think about it. Why would a happy client be trolling through Ripoff Report just looking to defend Dan Vitchoff's honor? It doesn't make sense.

I mean, I'm here, but the guy seriously damaged my teenage daughter and that makes me mad enough to share with anyone who will listen so he doesn't do it again.

Dan Vitchoff and PA Hypnosis Center helped me and several of my friends and family members.

AUTHOR: csmith - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, October 08, 2012

It makes me sad to see reports like this about Dan Vitchoff and PA Hyposis Center.  My experience with PA Hypnosis Center was wonderful!  He helped me overcome my severe anxity and lose weight.  I also referred several of my friends and family members to him and not one of them had a complaint or bad thing to say.  They were all thrilled with their results. Vitchoff offers the free consultation so that he can explain his process to prospective clients.  He knows the methods and techiques he uses are different than what people think about when they hear about traditional hypnosis but that is also what makes his programs so effective.  Individualizing a program is more than using a person's name in a generic hypnosis script, it's about figuring out what issues someone is stuggling with and addressing those specific issues head on.

The no refund policy is in place because Vitchoff can't help you if you quit half way through the process.  It's like quitting half way through a marathon and wondering why you didn't cross the finish line.  Dan Vitchoff is the best in the business and unfortunately when you're the best in the business there will always be people who are out to get you or make you look bad.  I encourage all prospective clients of the PA Hypnosis Center to make an educated decision for themselves.  Go in and meet with Dan Vitchoff for your free consultation, you will be happy you did.  I know I was.

Congrats, but...

It's really great that it's worked for you.   However, your experience was nowhere near my experience.  He didn't go over anything before asking for the Credit Card.  We don't have paperwork, we weren't told how much sessions cost, just that he felt I needed so many sessions and then told us what we owed before we ever started.  Now he's trying to say that he gave me a "deal" and that he's being a good guy for not charging me the "regular" price since I refuse to go back.  Um...  WHAT regular price?  He never bothered discussing it.

Every single tape I've had is the exact same.  I've even heard people complain about their weight tapes; that theirs were not personalized either and that they had things pushed on them that wasn't an issue.  So it's not just anxiety.  And it's not just me.

Congratulations on your success.  But I deserve my money back because I was NOT given what I was promised.

Positive experience at PA Hypnosis Center

AUTHOR: Alexis - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 14, 2012

Virtually all of the issues in the complaint were discussed with me during my initial, free meeting with Dan Vitchoff.  He spent about an hour talking to me about what issues I wanted to work on (in my case, weight loss), then came up with a detailed, specific plan to explain how his type of hypnosis could help me.  Other friends had similar first sessions, which included disclosure of costs, refunds, and free follow-up sessions to deal with any future weight gain.  We were all free to leave and think about whether or not to sign up for the program as well as how many sessions we elected to sign up for eventually.

The description of the methodology is fairly accurate, except that each session is a different tape--I just completed my fourth session, and none of the tapes were repeats.  The glasses he uses provide a version of rapid eye movement therapy used by many professional psychologists and psychiatrists; this therapy is usually very effective in helping patients to focus on issues of concern and recognize the causes of the problem.  And, yes, Dan does briefly ask about your progress before putting the glasses on you and turning on the audio tape.  He does leave the room.  However, the recording is of his voice, and with the glasses, the wonderful recliner, and the darkened room, the effect is hypnotic and achieves the objectives established at the first meeting.  If you are a skeptic or resistant to help from a psychologist/psychiatrist, this program probably won't work for you, and you shouldn't waste your time and money on it.  However, if you are motivated and receptive, this program can really help.  One friend has lost 80 pounds; another has lost 5 pounds in two sessions but had less to lose.  Over 6 weeks/4 sessions, I have lost 15 pounds and a more impressive number of inches; my goal is to lose 50 pounds.  Most significantly, the program has transformed me from a chocoholic, fast-food maven into someone who automatically makes better food choices, enjoys exercise, and actually likes vegetables now.  Do I know how it works?  Not exactly.  But I don't really care--as long as it continues to work in motivating me to make better food choices and to exercise regularly.
