Pacific Financial And Alside, A Difvision Of Associated Materials Incorporated I received a sweepstakes check for $4,550.00. I immediately checked all companies listed on the accompanying letter and check for fraud on the internet. Mississauga, Ontario Canada ,Akron Ohio

This was a Cash sweepstakes scam. I received a letter from Pacific Financial Inc., 1845 Argentia Rd., Mississauga, Ontario Canada L5N 1P9 with a check enclosed. The letter said I'd won a sweepstakes for $100,000 US dollars. The letter instruced I cash the check, forward some of the proceeds to a Mr Mark Walker at (ph) 1-903-781-3960. I was to call him and make arrangements to forward a portion of the proceeds and then my remaining "winnings" would be sent to me.

I immediately looked up all info on the letter and check on the internet for fraud reportings. I never for one minute thought this was legit but, it is the first scam I've ever personally encountered.

The check had the following information on it: Alside, First On America's Homes, Alside Inc., PO Bo 2010, Akron, OH 44309 - A Division of Associated Materials Incorporated drawn on National City Bank Ashland, Ohio. The letter was sign by Luary Lewis, he was also the signer of the bogus check.
