You get a call with news that you won a free cruise and airfare, with no obligation to buy anything.  To redeem, you must attend a 90 minute sales presentation to learn about their services.  You must bring a drivers license and credit card to verify your identity.  You must bring your spouse and an invoice or other document as proof that you are a couple. Everyone is screened and shows ID to be granted entry.  You must make an up-front contract that when the presentation is over, you will decide to buy or not to buy- but you promise not to leave them hanging by saying you will go home to think about it.

The presentation is very upbeat and interactive and goes like this: Pacific Palms has been in business approximately 20 years and is the largest wholesale travel company. They are the "Cosco of the travel industry."  If you shop at Orbitz or other travel retailer, you will pay prices that are marked-up by three separate entities in the resale chain. Pacific Palm offers you the opportunity for big savings on travel because they cut out the middle-men so you can buy wholesale travel at a very low price.  There is no limit on the types of vacation packages they offer. Go anywhere, with any form of transportation and any activities you choose at a fraction of the retail cost. You will be treated very well...300 English speaking travel agents are waiting to take your call and book whatever vacation you desire. The sign-up includes a Software License Purchase Agreement, a membership application with all terms,management checklist and price match guarantee and a Purchase Price Escrow Agreement. Your money is held by the Jakoby Law Firm in Westminster, CO and you have 72 hours to ask to nullify your contract and get a refund.  Upon leaving, you may get the certificates to cash in on the free trip that was promised to all who attended.  You must mail in money and credit card information in order to redeem the trip.  Pacific Palms explains this offer was not made by them; but by their marketing company; so you should feel free to tear it up if you read the fine print and don't like what you see.  New members are contacted early the next day by their dedicated "travel concierge" so they can begin to get started. 

Unfortunately, there is no free trip, no travel agents, no special discounts on travel, no affiliation between Pacific Palms and all the travel vendors(hotels, cruise companies, rental car agencies, etc.,) which they name-drop during the presentation.  There is only the sales office and a band of extortionists across the country who are running away with your money.  By the time you discover you have been wronged, either your 72 hours has run out, or the travel club sales office has closed and moved to a new location under a new name.  This group is operating with temporary offices all over the country,which pop-up and disapear as quickly as they came.  They also give presentations at various hotels using a variety of vacation club names. If you have made an empty travel club purchase with one of these groups, contact the FBI as well as the attorneys general in the states where your transactions took place. It is important that you take the time to file these reports for the sake of protecting yourself and the public. Also, immediately take any and all measures to protect yourself from identity theft and computer hacking. Don't be hard on yourself and don't call yourself stupid for being victimized.  Believe that most people are honest and live day to day with intent to improve themselves and their world.  We are all in this together and we must all stay positive and work together toward justice.
