My electric bill for one month is 460.00! We are very conservative on our electric use due to the fact we are on a very tight budget. So looking at my bill my actual electric usage isn't very much its all the other bogus add on charges that Pacific Power had decided to add to there bill. I did call to ask about the charges only to find out that the representative working for Pacific Power couldn't tell me exactly what they were for either. She kept pushing me to call another company for bill pay assistance. I dont feel it is fair for bill assistance companies to have to pay for Pacific Powers charges either. Its really unfair people have no other choice to have to pay whatever the bill says you have to pay (we need there electric services) but they themselves can't explain there own charges. $149.00 for a delivery charge. What did they deliver? The power was already on. No one even had to come out here. Supply energy block #1... $54.00 supply energy block #2... $213.00... What is this? Public purpose $12.91... Low income assistance 0.88 (Oregon doesn't even offer low income assistance programs) JC Boyle Dam removal $1.30 Copco & Iron Gate Dams removal $3.99. Why are we being charged for dam removals? The dams are no where near where I live why do they effect my electric bill?
Something needs to be done about this. People can not afford to just pay whatever Pacific Power makes up and puts on there bills to charge people. These charges should be reviewed. Please quit stealing money from us with bogus charges just because you know we have no other choice but to pay them. My bill for one month is more than I pay for rent. I'm disabled with 4 small children. I literally only get 800.00 a month to live on. I can not pay this bill. I don't know what to do. I've never had a electric bill over 100.00 at the most. This is my first month with Pacific Power. I didn't have a deposit with them. This is all charges for there Bill.

Delivery Charge

I appreciate the quick response and did some calling and investigating on my own. I found that the delivery charge was not to deliver the "Smart Meter" but a charge you get monthly according to how much your bill is. Last month it was 85.02 but this month it was $221.96. What this is for is the cost to cover poles, lines, transformers etc. In other words a cost that can vary. It has nothing to do with your usage; that is completely seperate. I think this is a RIP OFF!! Just a charge that THEY can make at their choice to make them richer. So that to me is really out of line.
Now the best part is: Want to find out why smart meters are killing up to 100 people every MONTH in North America: Simple, ask your power company for the "CERTIFICATION EXHIBIT" for their smart meter. DISTANCE TO COMPLIANCE according to the FCC, what is the DO NOT INSTALL DISTANCE. If a disabled person with a medical implant gets too close to a smart meter, there is a good chance they will die. Ask your power company where this warning is on their website.
Why do you think Pacific Power hired untrained contractors? When disabled homeowners with medical implants are KILLED by the high levels of radiation because these contractors KNOWINGLY IGNORED the FCC rules and DID NOT FOLLOW THE DO NOT INSTALL DISTANCES!
People are going to die and Pacific Power is NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE DEATHS.
Will the power company assume full liability for MY property damage/loss if THEIR smart meter burns my house down??
If the customers UL certified meter base is NOT INSEPECTED by a CERTIFIED electrician before the meter swap, then they are probably breaking the law and will increase the chance of your home burning down by a factor of 10,000 times. Remember, the only electrical device in your home that is NOT UL APPROVED is their smart meter.
Remember the old meter was a mechanical device, the more power you used the faster your dial went. These new smart meters are just a computer that is about monitoring how many times you use your microwave, blender, tv etc and then sent to google. We are so exploited and no one really cares.
I am switching back to my old meter as the SMART METER is right outside my kitchen window where I spend a good majority of my time. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income and health issues. I plan on staying alive as long as possible without the help of dying by the power company.
I doubt many folks could afford a $625.00 power bill especially us on a fixed income. Could you Ken?

Why is Pacific Power exploiting Senior Citizens and disabled persons? "THE SMART METER WAS INSTALLED" to the tune of $221.96 aka DELIVERY CHARGE....
only to find Supply Energy Charge Block 2 for $302.60 and Block 1 $59.06. Public Purpose $17.79 Energy Conservation Charge $17.32 Dam charges etc. When is this going to stop?! I have my power bill averaged each month so there are no surprises....$267.00 per month for an 1100 sq. ft. 2 bedroom 1 bath house. Wow!! My friend has an 1800 sq. ft house and pays only $125.00 My friend opted out of the Smart Meter as she is disabled on a fixed income as well and these bills would put her on the street. I have also researched this "Smart Meter" only to find that it causes health issues for people and pets. My total bill was $625.26 The power company has walked around my house to see if I have a spa or pool. Then sent me a flyer on how to conserve energy. I have replaced all my light bulbs, turned off my microwave at night etc. Something must be done!!! If you have this issue please state your case as well. Thank you.
