Pacific Premier Bank (formerly Life Bank) This bank gave MY Money in MY Account to someone else and refuse to give it back to me. Huntington Beach/Main Office. Costa Mesa California

I had a CD of about $4,600 in Pacific Premier Bank (formerly Life Bank). The account was in my name AS TRUSTEE FOR my mother (this money was actually my mother's). When I realized I didn't receive a 1099 for the year 2003, I went to the bank and requested it. They told me the account had been closed in December 2002.

To make a long story short, after trying to work with the branch, I had to write a letter to the President of the bank and he had his aide call me. Within about a week, this aide provided me with a copy of the withdrawal ticket and the canceled cashier's check, all the time admonishing me that it was too late to get my money back as I only had a year to protest that my money was missing.

After I had the evidence in my hand I figured out what happened: My father, now deceased, and who had been divorced from my mother for 40 years, had withdrawn my money from this account and closed it. How he was able to take MY money out of an account on which he was not associated in any way is a mystery that only the bank can provide. Next, he apparently took the check they provided, which was made out to ME, forged my name on the back, along with his, and deposited it into his own personal checking account.

In essence, Pacific Premier Bank let someone take MY money out of their bank and they refuse to give me my money. This was in an account that I was holding IN TRUST for my mother. I think everyone should know that their money is not safe at Pacific Premier Bank and that if this bank makes a mistake, they will not make good on their commitment. Also, sadly, but thankfully only after his death, I found out my father was not a nice person.
