Paint Bull tells you unrealistic profits that you will make once your done. I took one of their so called "business classes". It was taught by my salesman Tim(he must have drawn the short straw that day). He told the class of 2 that we should expect to make somewhere around $83K our first year. I never even sniffed that amount or even half that.  I went there in  2009 and rode around with Brad. Yeah Brad had a decent route but, he was the only one. What I would say they have done is taken the best dealers they have and given them to Brad to make it look like he has built up this great route. I keep in touch with one of the guys I had paint class with there. He rode with one of the other techs on his route. They had hardly any paint repairs and did mostly interior work and paint class was the only thing my buddy took there. I toured the place before I ever gave any money and all the students were building the place up like it was the MECCA of car repair. I found out why later. While I was attending Paint Bull/Colortech they came around and asked the students to say great things about the company to possible future students that were touring the facility.  I declined to do so and started getting a not so good feeling about the place.  When I went through it was $150 for a repair on a scuffed bumper. I tried using that figure and people would laugh at me. Now I see that Paint Bull/Colortech says you can get $200 for that repair. It doesn't happen where I live. Not even close, if anything the price is dropping not going up. There are so many people doing this stuff that the price is going the wrong way. I just meet a new guy doing this stuff he went through in 2010. They told him they haven't trained anyone within 50 miles of him. Well I live somewhere around 20 miles from him and we took the course only a year apart. The guy I went to paint class with has now stopped painting because of lack of work. I myself have moved on and we both lost alot of money and are still paying for it. I would suggest to anyone wanting to do this GO TO A REAL SCHOOL not something where you are in a week and then out on your own. I know of three others that have done this, none are happy with the result. This plan just does not work!!

To whom it may concern,

Just as any other business you decide to start for yourself, It takes hard work to become successful! That my friend is a flat out fact! I myself have also been through colortechs training program and never once been ask to "hype" up the course. I went through in 05 as well as 11 and I am completly satisfied. The bottom line is you get exactly what you put in to it just as in life. As far as the unrealistic numbers, well that is just not true. I managed 8 accounts on a weekly basis in 05 and averaged around 10,000 a month in sales with about 20% overhead. Paintbull also has great tech support for every tech that attends thier training. I personally charge about 180 to repair a full bumper. As a matter of fact I recently finishd one with a plastic weld and made 325. That was retail of course but you get the picture. I encourage anyone thinking about attending colortech to do some research before reading one persons opinion. Colortech is a legitimate company with a very reputable background. They do not pad numbers nor do they persuade students to do anything outside if training. I will continue to do auto paint repairs and I will continue to support colortech. Please have a blessed and wonderful day......
