This is not managed wordpress in any way, shape or form. Do NOT listen to their claims and ads.

If there is a problem, tech support will not fix it in any way. They will require you to fix it, even if it is their issue. As an example, my live site would always re-direct back to my dev (essentially breaking the site for everyone but me) and when I found out, they said oh that's a database problem. They, instead of fixing it, demanded I install a program via command line (wut) and edit 800 entries myself. I asked if they could do it and they said they don't have permission. Well, what would you say you do here?!?!?

NOT MANAGED.

AT ALL.

If you are a superb coder and programmer and want a little above bare bones hosting, pantheon is for you. If you are a normal person wanting a wordpress website, you'll be better off with virtually any other "managed wordpress."

Both "Gerald" and "Albert" are the tech support guys I dealt with - absolutely horrendous. I asked him to check my code (NOT EDIT, just check) but he refused, both Gerald and Albert.

Unedited (I am adding the "Me" and "Gerald" names + formatting, that's it) copy and paste from our convo:

Gerald's one

Me: The other tech support guy even lied about how to restore backups, I had to ask him if this restore button did it before he admitted oh yeah actually you can just use the backup (this was 2 hours ago, nothing but struggle since) 7:02 pm   Me: I will ask again can you do the checks on the backups to see which backup (most recent) has the correct URL?   Gerald: "I will ask again can you do the checks on the backups to see which backup (most recent) has the correct URL?"

No that is not possible, Max. Sorry.   Me: I will restore the website one by one and you check once each is live, OK?   Gerald: Well, you can use the command I share earlier to check if Live contains Dev url, Max.   Just use the --dry-run parameter.   Me: OK, but I am asking for you to do the dry run, after I update restore   Can you do that? I know you can so I guess the question is will you do that or is there some reason you would rather we spend hours? I just want to fix   Gerald: As much as we love to jump in, the help we can provide in these situations is limited as our scope of support is only limited to the infrastructure that runs the site and the dashboard.   Me: of course, I am only asking you to do what you did before   Me: As I'm sure you understand   Me: You already did the dry run, I am just asking you to do it after I restore a few times. I restore, you do the dry run. This process should only take a few minutes at the most, it takes me 10s to restore   Gerald: Personally, I understand your frustration Max. However, we would like to empower our customer do execute almost all the things they need using our tool.   Me: It's one click and then you just do the dry run as before   Gerald: I did that earlier to show you how it works. But running on every site is out of scope, sorry.   Me: I do not want to be empowered, I want to fix this rare issue and never worry about it again, which is possible if you just do the exact same dry run you did 10mintues ago   Me: You guys advertise "managed wordpress"   Gerald: We I can run that again on the same site for now.   Me: and you've run me around in circles for hours, literally   Me: Why on the same site?   Me: Running it on the same site is the same result, running it on the other after I restore is the same effort as well   Gerald: Like I've mentioned what you're asking is out of scope, Max.    Me: it seems like you're intentionally trying to be as horrible as possible, why can't I just restore and then you run it? It's a single command, you posted it here eariler   Gerald: You should be able to run that command by installing Terminus.   Gerald: We already provided the docs you need to install that tool in your computer.   Me: I know, but you have it right there in front of you, and you can do a dry run in 1second. I am just asking I restore, you dry run. The entire process will take 5minutes, instead of myself having to download a program I don't know how to use and probably destroy my website's code in the process   Me: You know what this is a straight up scam, I'm copying and pasting this into the scam report.   Albert's one   Me: ok, I will restore one by one and you check with dry run after each one   Me: OK?   Albert: Sure that will help.    Albert: Though you'll need terminus still of you want to have a --dry-run check, but if you mean by manual check as dry-run that will work too.    Albert: terminus by the way is a tool you install, and we don't have control over it. it's only for you and will rely for your command to work.    Me: no, I don't need teminus for dry runs   Me: the other person already did a dry run, and I didn't have terminus   Albert: Oh perfect, that must be a greater tool.    Albert: Let me know how it goes that tool    Me: So you're not capable of it?   Albert: nope i don't have that tool to dryrun other than terminus.
