Growing up in the south, I've always been a fan of boiled peanuts, so after moving away, I was excited to find a company that shipped frozen boiled peanuts. The price seemed fair, although the shipping cost even more. What we got was truly nasty and WAY too salty! The peanuts seemed to have been old and halfway to spoiled before they were even cooked. It's like rejects from some peanut processing plant were used. I've eating boiled peanuts all my life, so I know what they're like when they're not fresh when they're boiled. I was extremely disappointed, and let the company know. Now, I hope to let other people know. Boiled peanuts are being "discovered" for their healthful benefits by people other than us Southerners. But I hope no one gets peanuts from Papa John's and incorrectly gets the idea that they're terrible.

PAPA JOHNS PEANUTS ARE THE BEST

AUTHOR: Lmc - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, June 05, 2009

I've had a great experience with all of Papa John's products. I have had nothing but the best flavor and freshness!! I love their boiled peanuts & their cotton candy.
Maybe the person in question bought them at a place that didn't store the peanuts properly.

Too bad the person had a bad experience because I love their company products and have always been treated fairly.

I wonder if the person actually contacted the company. I've called them before and they always have made an effort to please the customer in all regards.

I must disagree....

I've been buying from Papa Johns for over two years now. They shipped regularly to me when I lived in Watertown, NY, just south of Canada, for almost 18 months. I was never disappointed with the quality or taste of the peanuts.

I would suggest giving them another try - I'm sure you'll become a fan!

In my experience...

Boiled (or "bald") peanuts are best when they are fresh ( like most foods). When I travel through the south I sometimes stop at stands that sell boiled peanuts and the vendors are boiling them then and there.

In my opinion, boiled peanuts are one those foods that just don't ship well. They lose a lot of flavor when they arrive.

Papa John's Boiled Peanuts the BEST EVER

AUTHOR: Barbi - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 04, 2009

I have been buying Papa John's Boiled Peanuts for over a year now. They are the best I have ever tasted. In 1 year I have never gotten any bad ones. I sell them at Green Markets and people keep coming back for more telling me they are the best ever. I am sorry you got a bad batch, maybe you should give them one more try. I shipped them to my sister in Wisconsin and they said they were still good.

They need to be put in the freezer, and take out only what you want to eat and heat them up and eat them within a week. They can be kept in the refrig. for a week but should be eaten by them. I hate to see you feel that way about them.
