I am tired of trying to deal with Paramount.  I just seem to run in circles.

Last summer I had medical problems, so I had lots of money problems.  I did get behind in payments with the gym (I'd much rather try to pay people like the hospital, car, etc first).  I called them to work out a payment plan.  I knew there would be late fees.  I accept that. I wasn't trying to skip out on my obligations, I had just hit a rough patch.

However, there have been so many problems.  A payment or two didn't go through since they used an old card, even though I had most definitely given them a new card.  They said that they would put the payments missed on the end.

They took $50 in payments every 2 weeks per the agreement. When it was done, I thought it would be a natural assumption that I was caught up.  (Ah naivete) They were supposed to start debiting the regular monthly payment after that, using the same card.

A month and a half later (this past week) I started getting calls from them again. I call back to see what's going on, and they say I owe $150. The associate sees that part of it is from fees due to the old card (their fault for not using the card they were supposed to) and said she would talk to her manager about getting that taken off.  I requested a copy by email or mail of a statement showing what was going on with the account.  I haven't gotten a call back.

I can't keep track of what they THINK I owe them...because it keeps changing all the time!  I haven't gotten any sort of statement, but I did get a new letter today saying they had referred me to their collections department and I owed them $304.

How the heck does it double in less than a week? Are they trying to collect for the months still left on the contract, which aren't even due yet? Where did all these charges come from? I am getting so aggravated.  I tried to be good and paid them what I owe, but it seems like they're making up charges out of thin air.

Now I'm worried - I also had a personal trainer account which they processed (and had been paid throughout, separate from this other gym account).  It went month to month after the year ended. I just called and cancelled with Gold's Corporate and got an email saying it was terminated and I owed nothing more.  With the way this other account has been handled, I'm just waiting for the charges to keep rolling in....
