I first saw Vanda's lovely Paraphernalia jewelry on Etsy, but when I went back to buy a necklace, her Etsy page was gone. I found her again by googling and figured her business had taken off, hence the need for her own site. Was I ever wrong. I sent her the money by Paypal, and got an email almost immediately, saying she had received payment and my necklace would arrive in 4 weeks, at the most. Well, that was nearly 2 months ago and I've noticed from the comments on her blog that I'm not alone in being ripped off.

It's very annoying, I rather liked the necklace and would still very much like her to send it, or refund my money. However, I can't get a reply from her, despite writing several emails, and Paypal have told me it's too late to get my money back.

Her site is still live, so I'd advise against buying anything from her. While I saw one person had gotten their goods after a long wait, almost everyone else has been disappointed. And ripped off. I'm considering reporting her to the authorities in Portugal, but there isn't much info to go on.

Hi,


In response to the pathetic excuse about the owner relocating between countries and having personal issues and other lazy excuses, I must say DO NOT order from them.


I placed an order through their website in June 2010. Here it is, early July and after 3 follow up emails, none of which I recieved a response to, I am without the gift I ordered and very angry.


If someone has personal issues and cannot fulfil the obligations of their orders then they should disable the portion of their site that takes payment. The way Paraphernalia Jewellery/Jewelry/Accessories/Vanda/Francisco Silva (account Paypal money went to) have conducted themselves is unprofessional, unethical and frankly inexcusable.

Same problem

Hello,


I am very disappointed because i have bought two necklaces on april 8th 2010 and i haven't received anything. Today i am still waiting my necklaces...I sent 3 mails (the last yesterday) and had no reply.


The Paraphernalia facebook is out right now(because of the complains of consumers i think) but vanda seems to be active on her personnal blog and myspace. I don't know what to think because some people received their orders and many didn't received anything (on the Paraphernalia facebook we were a lot to complain)...


Vanda seems to send orders when she wants or when she has the time to do it, but we paid so it is totally unfair. It is not hard to send mails to the consumers to explain the situation or to apologize for the wait but she doesn't do it.


I really don't know what to do. If you could help me and other consumers to find an issue or give some advices, it would be great!

So Ms Vanda has replied to all complaints with a standard text, but as to be expected this was the umpteenth blatant lie. Nothing has happened since 09-04, no shipping, no refunds, no contact...

In the meanwhile our file against her is quite extensive, many have responded to the call for info. The Belgian part of complaints filed against her is now done, all is ready for the dossier to be transferred to Portugese authorities. Any additional info is still welcome. At this moment i'll probably lose even more money than before with all the time invested in this, lawyers & investigators but it has become a matter of principle. If Paypal themselves don't care about this level of huge fraud, then it's up to us to set things straight.

Any questions about ordering and delays should be directed to shopparaphernalia@gmail.com. Same about asking for refunds or resending of your orders. . Paraphernalia has been going through a difficult phase with a change of country and house as well as some personal problems thrown into the mix. Vanda, the busy hands behind Paraphernalia, is desperately trying to catch up to orders and as such there have been some delays in delivery. However all is coming back to normal, and as such your necklace, if it hasn't arrived yet, should be with you shortly! 

At the moment we have no delayed orders, all new orders are being dispatched the same week. We are now offering shipping with tracking for any part of the world for only $2 extra, so you can be sure of when your package was sent and where it is.

If you e-mail us we will now reply same day and you will not be lacking for communication with us. I hope that you can understand the conditions under which the business was being run, and also realise that with such a big turnover a small number of orders is always bound to slip through the cracks of the post-system or of the whole kerfuffle of moving house and country. 

I apologise again for all the problems with orders that some people have had. However I am here now, and ready to reply, refund and re-send. Thank you all for your patience.

As you mentioned, you're not the only one that was scammed. We have a shop that sold Paraphernalia and lost a considerable amount of money to this person.
