I got two emails from Parents.com today (4/22/2012 Singapore Time; 4/21/2012 US Time) about a membership and an order placement. As I am in grad school and do not intend to have kids yet, I was amazed at why and how this order was placed in.
The order was placed with my old university address in the US. I have now shifted to Singapore for studies.
There was no way to cancel the subscription because the customer service page asks for an account number which was never sent with the emails I received. Furthermore, the customer service page doesn't show any contact details. I don't care what their rationale might be for not disclosing, but it is really shady business practice.
I found an entry from last year to an elderly Lady from Illinois who had been duped the same way and sent an email to the VP Consumer marketing listed as david.ball@meredith.com/ renee.gilley-gates@meredith.com
Obviously, the email was undelivered. I just want them to cancel any membership/subscription as I don't want their services at all.
