When I booked a company to ship my vehicle, I called Park Avenue Direct Auto Transport LLC, after getting an email with the following info quoted:
"We price each job using up to date live data from actual drivers who are doing these routes in real time, in essences we are giving you these prices from drivers who are working your route and need this amount to get the job done properly and in a reasonable time frame. This also assures you that you are getting a Price, that will move your car without a 3-4 week delay, due to the job being low balled just to get your deposit."
I looked at their website and read message from their company portiion that specified " After a customer books a job with us they will get emails from our company with real updates every 3 days until their vehicle is picked up". Well that never happened I had to pursue the company just to verify that I actually had a truck that was going to pick up my vehicle.
I spoke to Mike the acct executive and told him I had a $700.00 budget, and if I could stay in this amount I was going to have a friend drive my car back home instead, but he said " I can get you that rate no problem, he said he dealt with a few different carriers so it was a deal, he asked for a $150.00 deposit and I signed the paperwork.
This was done on Oct 17 2010 and I did not hear anything else from Mike or Park Ave until I emailed them on Oct 26 2010 , and at that time I was told that he was going to get an update from the driver, finally on Oct 29 2010 I got the drivers name, and at that point there was no indication that the price had changed.
On November 1 2010 I met with the driver to have my car picked up and I got a bill that was $100 more than my quoted price, I asked the driver why there was a difference in the price from what I was quoted and he said this was the price they told Park Avenue, I then called Mike back from Park Ave, and he told me that his origional driver had no insurance so he had to hire a new driver, and it supposedly cost him more to ship this same vehicle, I asked him why I wasn't informed whe he emailed me on Oct 29 and he kept repeating the story about his driver that had no insurance, when I asked why if the price increased he did not contact me, he could not answer the question,.He had done what is called a bait and switch by qouting a price just to get me to sign a contract, all the while knowing this was not the true price.
I believe that he knew all along that his quote was not legitimate, and he just wanted to collect his $150 brokers fee no matter what. I feel this is dishonest business pratices, and I want everyone out there who needs to ship a vehicle to be wary of Park Avenue Direct Auto Transport LLC, and their bait and switch tactics.
Also a little information I would like to pass along is, you do not have to go through these business brokers to ship your vehicle, you can call an auto carrier company on your own and cut out the middle man who charges you and extra $150 just to make a call for you., I just wish I knew this before I was RIPPED OFF by Park Avenue Direct Auto Transport LLC.

People don't understand prices in this industry ALWAYS go up with out us even knowing it, That's why we have it printed clearly on our contract terms that all "customers sign" and it is clearly printed on our web site under our terms, changes of availability, gas, road conditions, etc. can all make the price adjust higher 25-100, we do our best to get it shipped as low as possible, we don't get the money the drivers do, did this person complain about the "SERVICE" they got there car was pick up at there house by a professional who loaded their car, drove across the country and delivered to there house with no damage! No it was all about the extra $100, they gave the working man so he can feed his kids this money he got went to cover his extra gas charges. because he had to come out of the way to get this person, because she had to be out of there on a certain date and no other trucks were available, Sorry but these people below are losers. this is why this country got sold to china Nobody in this country wants to pay for good service they all want it for free.
