I purchased a used 2002 gmc pick-up on july 19 2008 a week later i took the truck in for a state inspection and on the way there the truck stalled out. i needed to call the shop and give me a tow or a jump they gave me a jump and told me to drive directly to there shop because it would likely stall again. they tested the battery and showed me that it wasn't holding a charge. therefore i needed a new battery. the mechanic also showed me that the tires were down to the wear indicaters and would also need to be replaced the rear view mirror which has a compas and a temperature guage in has a crack in it and we also discovered a minor shake in the left front end.

NOW ALL I ASKED FOR WAS TO BE RE-IMBURSED FOR THE BATTERY! AFTER THEY GAVE ME THE RUNAROUND FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS A GUY NAMED DENNIS TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO FOR ME BECAUSE I SHOULD HAVE BROUGHT IT BACK TO THEM! I TOLD HIM HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO DRIVE IT BACK TO HIM WITH A DEAD BATTERY AND THAT I LIVE 1 AND A HALF HOURS AWAY AND ALL HE COULD SAY WAS OH I DON'T KNOW I CAN'T ANSWER THAT! THE SCARY PART IS THAT I PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR $ 1200.00 FOR THE POWER TRAIN BUT I AM SEEKING A REFUND. I DO NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH PEOPLE THAT ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY YOU DON'T MEAN xxxx TO THEM!

PS THEY ARE THE LOSERS BECAUSE MY WIFE WAS GOING TO GO THERE FOR A NEW CAMRY BUT NOT NOW! I URGE ALL OF YOU TO LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR YOUR NEW CAR! AND PAY CLOSE ATTENSION TO WHAT THE SAY!

I HEAR SANSONE TOYOTA ON RT.1 IN RAHWAY NEW JERSEY IS THE PLACE TO GO. I DROVE PAST THERE AND THERE PLACE MAKES PARKWAY TOYOTA LOOK LIKE HELL! GOOD LUCK ! AND STAY AWAY FROM PARKWAY TOYOTA

A 2002 is old enough to have had one battery replacement already. An F150 battery is about $60 at Sam's.

My concern would be the sum total of the defects that you discovered well after your purchase. They imply a lack of care by the previous owner. And why bother with an extended warranty on a used vehicle? These extended warranties have more holes in them than Swiss cheese. If you want a vehicle warranty, buy a new vehicle. A new vehicle is cheaper in the long run.

You should have discovered the worn tires when you first looked at the vehicle. But you probably did not look. Tires on a used vehicle should be modestly worn so that one can determine that they are wearing uniformly. Brand-new tires could conceal suspension problems or damage.

The front end shake should have also been discovered prior to your purchase.

If you do not look out for you, who will?
