I purchased a 2000 Lincoln LS from Pars Cars Sales at 1345 Southlake Pkwy Morrow, GA. 30260 on 03/14/2008. Before I could get home good the engine light come on. The car started jerking & it smelled like something was burning. It was too late to call the dealership because they were closed. So, the next morning I called & told them all the problems that I had with the vehicle. The service manager told me to bring the vehicle back in & they will check it out & that I would have to pay a $10.00 service fee to insure my vehicle in the shop in case anything happened to it. I made an appointment to bring the vehicle in on 03/17/2008 at 11:00a.m. That Monday morning 03/17/2008, I told the service manager that I no longer wanted the vehicle & I would like a refund. She went & spoke to the managers. They told me that I purchased the car "As Is" all they can do was fix it. They would not give me a refund on the vehicle. I haven't even had the car for a couple of hours & I was already having problems. I have to make paymenst & if I'm having problems the same day I purchased the vehicle, I know that it is not even going to last a week, let alone for a couple of years. I purchased an Auto Check report. I told the service manager that the mileage had been adjusted. (06/27/2007-122,776) (07/24/2007-122,751) I showed the report to a manager. He stated that it's not there fault because it happened before they purchased the car. The manager told me to make a list of all the things that was wrong with the vehicle & they would fix it. I did exactly what he said. They engine light was off but no other repairs were done but the lug nuts replaced & I still had that burning smell in the car. I called the service manager & asked her when was the last time this vehicle had been serviced, so I could keep up with the oil changes & other services with the Lincoln dealership. She stated that she would call me back with the information in 15 minutes. She never called back! On 03/20/2008, the car cut off on me in the middle of traffic. I finally got the car to start back up & it was jerking really badly & of course the engine light was back on! I do not want them to fix this vehicle. I called back again & told her what had happened & she keeps on avoiding my calls. I received a copy of the emission test & it is dated back to 06/27/2007. I know that if an emission was done this year (2008) there is no way that this vehicle will pass! I would not recommend this company to anyone. When you see Pars Cars, don't even stop !!!

I want a refund and out of my contract too!

Hello-

I have had the same issue with Pars Car Sales. I purchased my car on 6/17/10 and as I drove home the check engine light came on. I didn't call because it was the end of their work day when I left so I called first thing in the morning. I've been given the run around from everyone - the sales manager (Thomas Jones) My sales person (Ila B) even the service department. I even tried to go claim my warranty to have the car serviced but only to have them tell me they couldn't or wouldn't. I've tried almost everything. All I want is my money back so I can go elsewhere to get a more reliable working car. Can you please PLEASE contact me and let me know how you went about getting your refund and having your contract cancelled. My name is Peggy I can be reached by email (((REDACTED))) or by phone at (((REDACTED)))

Listen to yourself! If they were reliable then they wouldn't have cancelled an "AS IS" contract. That alone speaks for itself! I had a certified Lincoln mechanic do a diagnostic on that vehicle. There was fraud committed on the emissions report. They played alot of games and made alot of false statements. But my paperwork speaks for itself! In certain counties in the State of Georgia, especially my county, you have to have a passing emissions. That vehicle needed 2 catalyst converters! So, therfore at the time the vehicle was sold it did not have a passing emissions! A car can not be sold off the lot without a passing emissions "AS IS or NOT". They even sent me false emails and made false statements. And I documented and made copies of everything.

And if I had took it a step further, I know that I would have won. I had my documentation together and that is why I got my money back!!! And that is all that matters!!!!!! HAVE A BLESSED DAY!!!!!!

In your own words you said they refunded your money and cancelled an "AS IS" contract when they had no contractural reason to do so. Next time realized any usd car should be taken to your mechanic and had a complete inspection before buying any used car, especially one this old.

I see NO ripoff here.
