Patrick L Fenton Deadbeat dad owes over $21,000 and is not willing to pay a dime. Athens Tennessee

I have a 14 yr old daughter with my ex-husband, Patrick Fenton. We seperated when she was two years old. I was a single mom, staying with my parents, with my child. I filed child support through the state of North Carolina where we were residing. The order stated he was required to pay approx $260 at the time.

About nine years went by, we never heard from him. No calls on her birthday, holidays, nothing. Not even a birthday card in the mail. I kept in touch with NC Child Support Enforcement. They always told me they were doing the best they could, but they could not file a warrant, because he would not answer his door so they could serve him papers. Seriously? The best they can do? In the meantime, my daughter and I are constsantly struggling financially because this loser thinks its okay to make a child and not take care of her, not even call her. What kind of a person does that? Maybe its just my opinion, I could NEVER do that to my children.

Needless to say, he now officially owes over $21,000, and still...NOTHING. NC Child Support Enforcement is a joke.

What makes this even worse is that the loser came to NC, while I was in the hospital, my daughter was staying with my sister. He found out somehow, and came and took her to Tennessee. The police said there was nothing I could do, because I could never afford to get custody papers.

Now the loser and his, uh, wife (I guess thats the most proper term I can use here. I have a few other in mind though), have my daughter, in Tennessee, they went straight to child support in their state to have the current order stopped, and now they want to take me to court for child support.

I dont mind paying for my child, but they should not be able to do that until he pays what he owes. Also, if the wife is out of work, and Dad is only making $8 an hour right now, they also have two other shildren at home, why not send her home to me so she can be taken care of?

Because he doesnt want to pay his child support, and thats the only reason he took her.

I see deadbeat dads on Americas Most Wanted all the time that owe less than he does, and I want to know how to register with them or an organization like them. Its not even about the money anymore. Its about principles. Why should he get to keep my baby, when he went nine years with out even calling her? Ive ALWAYS taken care of her, without hhis help. She has always been loved and we were very close when she left. Now he wont even allow me to talk to her on the phone. He said when I go to the judge and drop the $21,000 in back support, maybe then I can talk to my baby girl.

Its just devastating thet they can get away with this. Maybe someone out there can give me some advice, or something. I just want my little girl back, safe at home where she belongs. And I do want his sorry behind sitting in jail where he belongs for being a DEADBEAT DAD.
