I applied for a payday loan. I needed cash so I decided to just apply as a possible option to my dilemma. I only applied to see if I would be approved if I were to be forced to take that route.   "Danny" called my cell phone to ask my supervisors name. I returned his call and got his voice mail. I said, "Do Not , I repeat, Do not put any money into my account until I know what the fees are. I called again and again and again. No return calls. Next thing I know the money was in my account. My bank had no routing # for them to put the money back. Short version I'm paying $500.00 on a $200.00 loan.  This was a disaster!  Never again. Oh yea, I had to pay a return fee because they tried to debit money before the agreed date.

UCR payday loans are trouble

AUTHOR: Pete_Diak - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 13, 2010

I've been getting calls from UCR too. The first time I made the mistake and called them back. They said I had to pay $700 or I would be served with a summons. I told them I had no idea what they were talking about and to send me in writing what I owed and to whom. Then they got abusive and I just hung up.

That was a month ago. Now, calls are being left that if I don't call them immediately they will serve me a summons either at home or at work. I really wish I could sue these idiots. I'm certainly not calling them back and let's see if they take me to court. Ha! What a joke, yet I'm sure they scare people into paying. Thing is, I never took a payday loan, I filled out the app, but never got the money and I ended up closing my bank account soon after anyway, so there was no chance they could get money from me. Thank God!

It is very important to mention that on payday-loan-yes.com, under the faq's they clearly state they DO NOT authorize loans to people who reside in New York State. I live in New York State.

Payday Loan Yes

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, January 15, 2010

Unfortunately, you've been duked by PDLY like so many of us have.  They deposited money into my account after I asked them not to.  Even if you pay the "loan" back, there's a high chance that they'll still take money from your account whenever they feel like it.  You may want to close the account ASAP to prevent further damage.

Today, they threatened to take me to court.  A man named "Dave Collins" called me at work, claiming to be on his way to my job to serve me with a summons to appear in court.  He told me that there was an "addendum" attached to the summons, which would allow me to contact the debtor and try to resolve the debt before I was served with the summons.  He gave me a phone # of 888-358-1130 to call for debt resolution.  Dave said that once I made a new pymt arrangement, PDLY would automatically fax him papers that would prevent him from serving me with the summons, but that I only had 30 minutes to do so, or else he'd be at my job.  Of course my first reaction was to panic, so I called the number and spoke to a "Charles Lockwood" (at ext. 304) with a "third-party company" called UCR.  Charles agreed to reduce my $900+ balance down to a mere $500, with 2 automatic draft payments of $250.  That sounded great to me, so I agreed to it.

Hours later, logic set in and I started thinking.....1. When I asked him, Charles couldn't really tell me what (the abbreviation) UCR stood for; he just said "United Card."  Furthermore, he couldn't really explain UCR's role in the loan repayment/debt collection.  2.  A payday loan company that's a scammer can't possibly take you to court.  That would be like robbing a bank, and then taking someone to court for stealing the money that YOU stole.  You'd have to admit that you stole the money in order to prove that someone stole it from you.  Make sense?  And 3. Dave, the summons server, called from an out-of-area phone number.  We have caller ID at my job and I happened to answer the call.  When I looked down at the phone (before answering it), I remember seeing all zero's for the phone number.  Now, if he was going to serve me with papers, why wouldn't his phone number be a local number that reflected he was with the court in my city?

These people are a trip and I feel that ALL payday loan companies, whether legit or scammers, should be shut down entirely.  The government needs to do something about it!
