Payless Appliances LLC Scammed Me Rip-Off Mesa Arizona

On 4/6/14 I phoned Payless Appliances inquired about a washer and dyer they had advertised on Craigslist, was told the set was 4 years old and was $360.

I was very ill so sent my boyfriend to pay for it, he told the store clerk who he was and that I had called about the 4 year old whirlpool washer and dryer set for $360. they clerk had just talked to me and had my information.  Boyfriend paid CASH which is all they accept (now I know why) and signed the sales receipt.

He called me immediatly to tell me he was done, I asked he what the set looked like and he said he didn't see it because it was coming from another store, I was furious that he did not see the set, they told me it was at the store in Mesa where he was.

I had him go back in the store and ask for a picture of the set, they sent it to his phone, I also had him ask for the serial number which they wrote down for him

I checked the serial number and the set was 8 years old not 4 years old as I was told it was.

I called and spoke to Toni and told her the story and that I wanted a refund I didn't want the set at all, she told me they NEVER give refunds for any reason, I told her they lied to me about the age and she told me too bad I was not getting my money back.  I told her I was filing a complaint, calling the police and making a statement on Craigslist, all of which I did.  The police don't care and will not help.  She told me to go ahead and do whatever I want because there was nothing I could do to them and she didn't care what people thought.

I was so upset when she hung up on me but I tried to call her back about an hour later and her phone was disconnected.

The set was delivered a day late after we made 28 phone calls to the store, they advertised free delivery and set up, what a joke.  The delivery guy had to have my help ( I have Multiple Sclerosis and several issues and have been bed ridden),  he did not have any tools with him so he could not hook up anything, I found this very convenient because that way I couldn't check it out and I only had 24 hours to do so.

The set is not the set I bought in fact the picture I received is not the set delivered.

To this date the washer and dryer do not work, I have called several times but they told me NO REFUNDS!!!

I am too ill to take them to court, if fact I am having part of my stomach removed and intestines rerouted on May 6th.

I just don't understand why something is not done to them.

When I feel a little better I am going to gather information including lettersI received from others who had same situation and call the TV station to see if they can investigate.

I am obviously telling the truth because people I do not know have reported very similar situations.
