I want to let people know that NOT everyone is the same on eBay. You have some great sellers and you have a lot of rotten sellers. Some of the better ones actually care about the customer and not just the money. I won't bother categorizing but there are also sections of eBay that I won't even bother venturing in. You might as well throw you money at them and leave. For the most part, scammers are in that section and it's too hard to pick the good from the bad when you can't see them.
PayPal and eBay, being attached by the umbilical cord are companies that show favoritism towards, of course, the big honcho, the power seller, the moneymaker. I should add that not all power sellers are bad, just most of the ones I came in contact with. I swear to God, it never fails. The seller can have the greatest feedback and wham, he decides to screw someone and I'm standing in front of him. I think I wear a note on my head that says I'm easy. TAKE MY MONEY, RIP ME OFF or something. I really need to take care of that.
Over the years of using eBay, I have become very untrusting and that doesn't work at all. There has to be some trust or you just aren't going anywhere with the process. I have learned a lot in the years on here and in the years that I quit eBay when I got tired of all the BS with the system. My first claim to eBay and Paypal was for a BRAND NEW GE DEHUMIDIFIER. I set it up the same day I got it and the next morning I had a flood and a claim. That auto turn off, didn't bother turning off and that was my fault, so says eBay and Paypal. The seller offered for me to send it back at my cost and IF he found that it was a bad dehumidifier, then he would send me a new one. Like I was going to trust him to find the reason why it did that and be HONEST about it? Right! Meanwhile I have a sinking floor with a brand new w2w rug and pad that are drenched. He didn't care and neither did eBay or paypal. He just lied through his teeth, if he had any, and said it was damaged in transit. The funny thing was that there was no damage to the box. Go figure! After a little over a year, LG, who actually makes GE products, sent a check to repair the floor and rug and to get a new machine. Never again. I left eBay. Only to come back, of course.
7 claims in the years of being on here and I don't remember getting my money returned on a one of them. Does that tell anyone something??? This claim I am going to tell you about now just did me in.
In March, I bid on 3 Yankee Candle auctions by a man in Texas. It wasn't the first time I bought from him but it was with another name. I paid for all three auctions together and he sent them out through FedEx. A few days after paying. I received an email stating;
I had some bad news for you. Fed-Ex almost destroyed your entire order. It looks like it fell of a truck and got ran over.
Would you like me refund all of orders? Or, just the items I can ship back out?.
I really wasn't sure what to do and I told him and he wrote me back saying;
The witches, brew if I were you I would keep. The set is a great collector's item. It would be good to put out at halloween.
The pineapple, had too many glass pieces to even think about trying to save it.
So let's do this.
I will refund the patchouli, and one of the pineapple's. I will find some more pineapple for you. As soon as I get them in, I will let you know.

I declined and told him I wanted to cancel the whole order. I didn't hear form him until the next day when he emailed me and told me he never got my message to cancel and the package was mailed. I told him I did not want it and it would be refused since I had to go into the hospital at that time anyways. It came along with 3 other packages and walking back to the house, I saw the return address and I turned around and gave it back to the Postman telling him I was refusing it. It was taken back and put in the bin to send out the next day. For some reason, the seller hasn't received this package. I have no proof, one way or the other but I do know it was sent back. He wouldn't do anything until he received the package back and I had told him it was over a week ago that I sent it back and he should have gotten it by then. Still nothing. A couple of days later I wrote to Paypal for help. I should have known better. I put everything in the claim and yet, they found in favor of the seller, in both cases. The seller has proof that it was sent to me. I have proof it was sent back but who cares? I told them everything that went on up to that point but who cares??? They certainly don't. I called Paypal on Friday and the guy says to me that they probably wouldn't find in favor for this seller on the last case because he wouldn't have proof that he sent it but they did, they closed the case on Sat.
So here I am. I hope that many people read all that happens on eBay and PayPal and stays away from them. You might have a good run for a few and then you will find that person that is sitting and waiting to take your money. It's not worth it it's not worth the stress.
Here is the letter I sent to appeal my case with Paypal. I don't expect to hear from them ever again after that.

To Whom It May Concern:
I called on Friday about my claims, one that was still pending and one that had been closed. Knowing that the decision to settle the second case in his favor because everything that eBay and paypal do are in favor of the moneymaker, I am sending this now. I want to APPEAL the 2 cases that you closed against. He might have proof that he sent these to me but more importantly, I have proof that I refused the order and it was sent back to him by the P.O. I NEVER took possession of the last package. The case number is PP-159-237-203 and PP-159-248-142, his name is xxx and his email is xxx.
Since you and eBay are one and the same, it only stands to reason that you are going to stand up for the seller who brings you more money and I totally resent that. As usual, you read what you want to read and nothing else and you send out the form response. I did not state that it was a claim for not-as-described. It was a claim for over $60.00 owed to me for items that were CANCELLED after first shipment was damaged, and he sent out ANOTHER anyways. I have proof that the package was refused and given back to the Postman for return. AGAIN, I repeat, I NEVER took possession of the last package. You did not even ASK if I had proof of the same thing as he. This was all written in my claim but apparently it either doesn't matter or you can't read. Whichever it was, both show that you don't care enough about the situation.
This whole case along with all my others that I got ripped off for, with neither eBay nor paypal standing behind me and returning my money will be reported and I will do everything in my power to get it returned. I am so tired of this favoritism both companies display and so are many others. I am in the right about all the cases that I have put in claims for and I have received absolutely NOTHING in return. I have gotten screwed more times than I can count and without the benefit of intercourse and NOTHING to show for it.
I used bold text for the more important things you should read so it makes it easier on you and you don't have to exert yourself in any way. You can get back to me about this appeal anytime. In the meantime, I will be posting all this on the web. Hopefully it will help others so they don't do business with either eBay or paypal and find themselves in the same positions as myself and many others.
