Mark Speros, the CEO of PC Help Desk, runs a computer repair shop in La Jolla. His services may be comparable to Best Buy's Geek Squad, and he owns a legitimate PC Repair business. However, he is partnered with a multi-level marketing company that offers direct sales called ACN, which is definitely a HUGE ripoff.

On January 28th, 2010 at 5:00pm, I went down expecting an interview and was placed in a group of  about 15-20 people. We got a tour of Mark's business and he explained how things went very well. It was more of a lecture and a tour than a real job interview. I was eager to sign on as a member of the PC Help Desk team when I entered the door. He didn't ask everyone questions as would a typical group interview, but instead, we all were asked to fill out a paper and have the receptionist photocopy our Driver's License so he could check our driving record.

But, after being there for an hour and getting very little information out of Mark himself on how the business ran, I knew there was something up. He told everyone who wanted to be on the PC Help Desk that they could leave about an hour into his lecture, and that after a 5-minute break he was going to explain another business that he was running to all of us.

After the break was over, I stuck around because I wanted to at least impress Mark and wanted him to hire me on as a PC Help Desk Agent. 3 other people (now referred to as "they") entered the room, and one of them played a DVD on the computer with Donald Trump explaining what ACN was. Immediately, this drew a red flag when they talked about all the different "Levels" you can climb up, and that you only needed to get 20 customers to be set for life. They said even that you could retire at 40 years of age with $4.4 million dollars! That's just way too good to be true!

They were selling a video phone that I had never even heard of, or have seen in use in any business or home I've come across. They even debunked a competitor, Skype, and said that Skype was going to charge for PC to PC Video calls. I looked on Skype's website, and they clearly state that all Skype Video Calls to PCs are always FREE!!! This was basically a flat-out lie to get them to have us sell their video phone product, and that we would make "residual income for a lifetime." They said they're going to expand and get video phones in everyone's home by 2012, but hey, I have yet to see EVEN ONE in use at EVERY job I have worked for, and EVERY person I have known.

Not to mention, I wanted to ask a question to them about the phone, but they told me to hold my questions until the end, and then when the end came, they said "Oh, we're having a meeting on Saturday at 10:00am at the Hyatt Regency, we'll answer your question there." What the hell!? I wanted to know the answer to my question at the END of the interview, NOT ON SATURDAY! They obviously don't like people that are skeptical at all.

Oh, and one other thing: Someone was calling them on their "ACN" Video Phone during our "interview," and they just HUNG UP THE PHONE! That is probably the WORST thing you can do as far as customer service... just hang the phone up on someone who is calling you. The receptionist could have easily taken the call, but she didn't! Besides, why not demonstrate the product just right there and then? Is it broken

Bottom Line: Beware of ACN! Mark Speros, if you are reading this, I recommend that you STOP your affiliation with ACN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Also Mark, you should Continue and expand your Help Desk business to North County, there is a good market here. But BEWARE of ACN (I said it again), They are nothing but liars, thieves, and cheaters that will stop at nothing to scam you and your company. Don't take my word for it though, look at all the other reports filed on here; there's almost 50 of them. Companies like ACN should be against the law, no wonder our economy sucks so much, it's because these companies are getting away with highway robbery!

Completely False!

AUTHOR: R. Michael G - ()

POSTED: Saturday, March 16, 2013
First off, your posting name "TifasRevenge", should say it all, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Actually I agree 100% with the problem of being mislead into an opportunity meeting, by being proposed as a job interview. That is completely against ACN policy and the rep who did it would be terminated if you were to contact ACN.

There should be no deception in showing people the business and yes it's a business not a job as you keep saying. This is for people who wish to work for themselves. As you said you are not interested in being in business for yourself and that's fine, but where do you have knowledge of the business you speak of. From browsing through the internet, looking for anything bad you can fund.

Well I'll give you this challenge, write down the names of any 10 companies, you choose, put them in a hat mix them up and pick one. Then go on the internet and find every negative article you can find on them. I'll bet you will find plenty. You get what you look for, the internet is filled with baseless, unsubstantiated complaints from anonymous sources just like yourself. There is no regulation, like if a newspaper were to print it, they would be liable.

Then at the end of your complaint you promote the very person who you said deceived you, that should be a red flag, on how valid your complaint is.

I have written so many long and detailed responses to all of these baseless claims by ANONYMOUS sources, that It's nauseating, so I'll just keep them simple.

If you want to know the truth about this just go to - ACNIBO: Read The Facts - and read the article. It will only take a few minutes and you will understand the facts, not just opinions of 100s of ANONYMOUS complainers, who claim to know the truth, but wont reveal who they actually are.

There is no point in defending ACN from people who just want to believe how bad it is, they will seek what they want to believe, if you're one of them, dont bother reading the article you might have to change your mind.

Re: Nobody Claims Anything

First of all, I would just like to say outright to you that you are nothing but a bold faced liar. When you said "The Company is not a scam, the real scam is the person who pay's to join and does not work hard." WHY THE HELL SHOULD I PAY ANYTHING TO GET ANY JOB?! Any job that requires any sort of payment to get into should definitely be a red flag right away. The people that run the business ought to be ashamed of themselves for practicing such, but instead if they really want people to be successful, they should lend a hand. Every decent manager that I have worked with has always been open to helping and working as a community. ACN does none of this, all they want is your money, and once you pay their fee, they could not give a rat's *** what you do next.

You said "That you work hard as a systems administrator for a company with ethics and morals, than why are you searching for a new job? They are not out to get money is it a non profit agency or business not doing very well?"   I'm not searching for a new job, I am happy where I am thank you very much, I work hard enough supporting all my users at my company and maintaining my company's servers. Any yes, they are a business like every other company... however, what they have and that ACN lacks is one thing... support and caring for their employees. I wrote this review back when I was unemployed, and just another victim of the ongoing recession. I networked with a few people and eventually found myself a job that pays full time with benefits. Can you say that ACN will do that the first day you walk into the door? I don't think so. They're all 1099 Income and no benefits at all!

Eventually, this company, like many others, will come under auditing, screening processes, and inspection like any other company, and as people become a lot more cautious in this economy about where their dollars are going, and following the money back to the source, they will see that this is no different than any other pyramid scheme. ACN can try to do their best to cover it up, and I know they will, but they have thousands of complaints they need to answer to, which may turn into a class-action lawsuit (by either consumers or employees!). Don't take it from me though, just because I can read between the lines and understand where my money and investments are going, I can make smarter decisions, such as going to Vegas to gamble my money instead of enrolling in the ACN program.

Face it folks: don't believe any of the lies/brainwashing or anything this person has written... it's ALL FAKE. If you want honest work, don't work for ACN. They offer nothing for you at all but perhaps a ticket to bankruptcy and possibly fraud charges for selling a product that doesn't work as advertised.

Nobody Claims anything.

AUTHOR: sal - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, May 24, 2010

Ok first of all nobody is claiming anything, Success is not guaranteed in ACN, just like any other business. Ok you are claiming you did your homework, what homework was that going on to a website that shows complaints of people who joined and quit before there first month? these people are called quitters. Nobody is forcing anyone to join they are not putting a gun to your head and making you sign the agreement. I took 4 month to sign up for the ACN oppourtunity I did do my homework I went and read reputable publications and went to several other meetings and i don't always focus on the negative, but the part of it. I knew if i don't work i dont get paid.  What part of this is not a get rich quick scheme don't you get. The products itself are great and why wouldnt you want to offer them to your family. Verizon Wireless, ATT wireless, Sprint, T-Mobile, Direct TV, Dish network, ADT home security, Local and Long Distance, VOIP Video Phone which offers real time video, so where is the scheme we offer great products and services, so stop calling it a pyramid scheme. I do believe you can save your family money, and why not show them the opportunity if they don't see value in the opportunity then have them be your customer what's wrong with that, there is nothing deceptive about it, and you are being closed minded about it. And i do have a yes to your question i know someone who is working her way up, she signed me up for direct tv service before i even joined ACN and enjoy the services because it is saving me money.

Ok you wrote: That you work hard as a systems administrator for a company with ethics and morals, than why are you searching for a new job? They are not out to get money is it a non profit agency or business not doing very well? I really don't want to get into that because it is probably a great company. Also I believe in working hard and making a good living, and not be infulenced by other peoples ignorance. You also say that all our money goes to our CEO and the guy at the bottom does not make anything. No matter how hard you work you will always be an employee making thier set money. Network Marketing companies not just ACN allow you to make more depending how hard you want to work. Now i am not trying to sell you on a business opportunity because you don't believe in the opportunity. Oh and by the way If you ever wanted to be a business owner guess what you have to sell your products or services to a prospective client.

So now i believe i have just countered your claims and you could go on and write an ignorant rebuttle on how Stupid I am, and that I drank the ACN punch, and that it is just another scam. The Company is not a scam, the real scam is the person who pay's to join and does not work hard. If that person would work as hard at acn rather than work hard at bad mouthing acn's imagine how succesful that person would be.

I did my research, what about you?

AUTHOR: Tifas Revenge - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, May 21, 2010
First of all, all of you that claim that ACN is supposed to make you money and everything, you're all wrong. I've done my research, my homework, and gone to other websites and heard the stories. If I wanted to own my own business, I'd do so. But guess what? I don't feel like cheating people out of their hard-working money. The business practices with ACN are deceptive in this way. Their product doesn't work the way it was intended to, and the major sole intention is just to get other people to sign up for it. This is a classic pyramid scheme, and the only reason it is legal is because they actually have a product. I am not in the job market to go into Sales at all, or run my own business. If I wanted to do that, I would have done so by now. I'm only in the job market to survive, and make a decent living as a hard-working US Citizen. Why don't all of you do your own research and counter my claims... do you have evidence to prove that anyone recently has been successful in the company from level 1? How were they successful? How many millions of people had to suffer at their hands because of the defective product that is not returnable? I refuse to support any business that has this practice, or even have a business like ACN sponsor me for my own business in this way.

Now, I work hard enough at my own job as a Systems Administrator, and I'm supporting a company that actually has ethics and morals, and isn't just out to get money. What do you support? How good is your company's product as far as their support? Where does all the money flow? It all goes up the food chain and into the hands of the CEOs; nobody down at level 1 or anything will ever receive anything.

Why is it a huge ripoff, Have you been ripped off by ACN? or are you just upset that you were going in for a job interview and was presented with the ACN opportunity? First of all the way you were invited to see ACN was wrong that is misleading, but like the other independent representative stated that is not looked well upon by ACN. Second The reviews posted on here looks to be from people who have been mislead by bad Team Leaders who are looking to make a quick buck, oh and by the way if you type up every communications company on here there will be a complaint. Nobody's is ever happy. For you to say that the company is a bunch of liars, cheaters trying to scam you out of your money because of 50 reports, than your views are wrong. Ask any successful business owner that it takes time to build a business, it is not going to happen overnight. Most of the People on here are upset because they are not making money. Have you gone on and asked them how hard did they work at or did they just quit after hitting the first obstacle. Now in your post you put down you only need 20 customers to be set for life, that's wrong now you are the one that is misleading people you are putting down false information, explain the whole thing before you only post one thing. Now I watched the Fox 11 story and was amazed on how they only focused on one person who was ripped off, oh yeah and when they said that the company makes false promises about projected earnings could is very different from you will be making which is what projected earnings mean. I just want you to see the big picture if someone told you something you like was not good would you believe theme or would you want to try it out for yourself. ACN makes no promises that you will make money, they are offering an opportunity to make money that is very different. Just remember in life you have to work hard nothing is free. So it's not a cult it's people who see an opportunity and are willing to take it. Maybe this Opportunity is not for you and that is respectable, but until you have tried ACN or any other business venture, and actually worked at it don't talk trash about it.

This is Hilarious

AUTHOR: FHTM - (United States of America)

Is ACN a cult? I know of another ripoff company called FHTM (Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing). Its all about recruiting and getting the rep sign-up fees. It is irrelevant as to whether the product works or even pays residuals. The guys at the top of this and other MLM's couldn't care less if you get residuals.

It seems like these business mentors are more like the Church of Scientology. People in these companies from the bottom to the middle level want better for their lives and are willing to risk it all to get what the Top dogs get - BUT THEY NEVER WILL!

Many of the cult like pyramid schemes are under investigation. FHTM just was shut down in Montana and I am certain that ACN will have it's day of reconning too/

ACN is a legitimate MLM Company

AUTHOR: azbroncosfan4ever - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, March 12, 2010

First and foremost I am a "Independent Distributor" for ACN. I have been with the company for almost two months! I would like to just comment and say that this Mark fellow that you spoke of, is obviously an "Independent Distributor" also!

And I would like to say that he obviously has constructed his own way of getting people to see this opportunity! I promise you that this technique that he used to get you to view the opportunity, is in no way endorsed by ACN, its founders or any executive officers!

In fact, there is a good possibility that if the company finds out that he is misrepresenting the company! He may be suspended and/or dismissed as an representative!! But let me assure you from what I have seen and experienced with the co. they are legit and so is the opportunity!

This is not a get rich quick scam, in fact every presentation I have ever seen (including the first one) they always make it very clear that for the average person this could be a 3-5 year plan for success! If you follow the cos. guidelines for success!!

So I just thought you would like to hear from a normal guy like me, who has experienced what ACN is really all about! And I think if you really want to see the co. for who they really are, you should visit their website and click on the opportunity tab and see for yourself!!

Also I would like to add that I personally don't believe that Donald Trump would endorse this company if they were a "scam" or not "legit"! But then again that's just my opinion, take it for what it's worth!!

oh and a company like this is helping people to get to a point financially to where they will no longer be affected by a "bad economy" that is also my opinion!! So please do your research before you go trashing cos. reputations!!

I think that would be better too!! Because as we all know Rip-off Report won't remove posts!
