I purchased Shield Deluxe 2009 from PC Security Shield (PCSS). The first problem is the fact that this company states clearly that the price 'includes' a $20.00 rebate. No it doesn't! The $29.99 price for 3 computers is 'after' the rebate, which is a mail-in rebate! I have to print the rebate form and mail it in. I suddenly get this sinking feeling in my gut. My debit card is charged $49.99.

Immediately after the purchase, I downloaded the software, which took forever. Following the directions, I uninstalled my old anti-virus software and tried to install Shield Deluxe 2009 software. It would not install. I get every kind of error notification in the world. Most of which I have never seen. I get a message telling me that I have go to a specific website provided by PCSS to remove old anti-virus software that may still exist on my computer. I go to the site and it's another download to run the program. It finds nothing!

I decide to contact Support, which is supposed to be free. It's free alright, but only by email with a 72 hour response time. There's a forum for support. It won't open. If I want to contact someone in person, I have to pay for premium support. That feeling in my gut gets worse.

I refuse to pay for 'premium' support, so I send an email requesting a refund. I've never had this much trouble installing anti-virus software or any software for that matter. After sending the email to PCSS, I found AVG Internet Security, which I installed with absolutely no problems, so I knew PCSS's installation has some kind installation issue.

PCSS responded in 3 days...with a standard reply that included a ticket number for future replies concerning my support issue. As of today, no refund, no reply, so I send another email insisting on a refund.

Their refund policy is as state below:
Return Policy:
PCSecurityShield will accept returns for up to 30 days after day of receipt of good. Item must be in good shape and a restocking fee may be charged if there is damage. PC Security Shield will not reimburse for return shipping fees.

After 20 days PCSecurityShield will issue a store credit only less fees.

I never did get Shield Deluxe 2009 to install. Customer service is terrible. The price is misleading. It is my honest opinion that PCSS is a possible scam. Be careful!

Great Product

AUTHOR: Allan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 25, 2009

I purchased Shield Deluxe 2009 from PC Security Shield (PCSS). As required I removed my old Anti-Virus program, understand I am not an IT guy but this process does not require you to be one. I simply went to uninstall program on my computer and clicked on my old Anti -Virus program and a couple of minuets latter it was removed. Now for the Installation that was a bit intimidating for me so instead of attempting it my self I chose to accept their offer to let them install it for me. In big bold letters on their web site they provided a Telephone Number not just an Email address to contact them with, they answered with in a couple of rings were very polite and before long they were incontrol of my computer setting up my New Anti-Virus program the Shield Deluxe 2009 from PC Security Shield (PCSS). By the way it was free as is all support from that company unlike other programs I have used in the past. As far as asking for and receiving a refund I can not respond to that for the obvious reason I am very pleased with this Company, from their customer service to the program it self they rate very high in my evaluation, they have far exceeded my expectations which includes the most important position to begin with Protecting my Computer.

PC Security Shield Contact Number for a Refund

AUTHOR: Nancy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, April 27, 2009

Out of frustration and the fact that I still have not received a refund or a reply to my emails and so-called tickets, I decided to comb every square inch PCSS's website. I find a Purchasing Policy that was not on PCSS's website when I requested a refund.

The Policy has a section called Cancelled Orders: 'PCSecurityShield will accept order cancellations within 20 days of purchase. ALL order cancellations will incur a $3.00 processing fee. Under no circumstances will this fee be waived.

To cancel an order please contact us at 561-282-9614 and we will confirm by phone or email.'

The same policy has another section called Return Policy which states very exact same wording as in my original comment above. It was the only thing I found when I requested a refund and I found the Return Policy in FAQ.

Notice it says 'cancel' or 'returns.' It does not say one thing about a refund. Very clever wording on their part. It would be nice if they would simply state a Refund Policy. It could be considered misleading. Cancellation must be for online downloads and return is for a packaged software (CD) purchase?

I don't what happened in the past few days, but this Purchasing Policy was nowhere to be found when I made my purchase and then realized that the software was not going to install. The only thing I found at that time that was free was Customer Service by email; otherwise, I had to pay for 'Premium' support.

PCSS was highly recommended by 2009 Security Software Reveiws.com

AUTHOR: Nancy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, April 20, 2009

BTW, Every year I do a search for the latest and greatest Internet Security software. This year was no different. My search was 'best internet security software' and the website listed first and foremost was 2009securitysoftwarereviews.com which was the same website I found last year. Quite a domain name to be sure.

Their number one pick, PCSS! Last year it was Bitdefender, which I used and was very pleased with. This year, I decided I wanted more internet security than what Bitdefender had to offer.
(((ROR Redacted)))has no contact information on their website, but a little 'whois' research lead me to their email. I sent them an email to let them know that they have reviewed may be a possible scam.

I just recently noticed that 2009securitysoftwarereviews.com seems to think the cheaper the price, the better the software. While a low price is a plus, it is not a good reason to place Internet security software at number one.

You get what you pay for. If you want good Internet security software, you're going to have to pay for it.
