My wife is 75 year old Vietnamese who came to this country in 1983; could not read, speak, nor write English and still has trouble with English. A few days ago she purchased a set of front seat covers for her '98 Buick, at $42.78 or $42.79 including tax, not knowing that she was getting the wrong type of seat covers due to her lack of knowledge of English.

When she tried to return them, Pep Boys would not refund her money without the receipt. She says that the employee never gave her a receipt nor did he put it in the sack.

They offered my wife to choose other merchandise as exchange for the seat covers. We do not need anything else and we do not want anything else. All we want is for Pep Boys to accept the return of the wrong seat covers and give my wife the refund.

It both AMAZES and OFFENDS me that so many people come to this country to live and work and REFUSE to learn OUR language.

They expect US to learn THIER language to accomodate them. I find this totally unacceptable.

I don't feel sorry for someone that has been here 23 years and still REFUSES to learn ENGLISH!

How does she drive? That is the scary part!!

If she cant read something as simple as a seat cover description, HOW can she read street signs and warning signs?

Better yet, HOW DID SHE GET A LICENSE??

She should NOT be driving!

The entire OP is insulting to someone who served this country and has fought to protect our way of life and our heritage. ENGLISH!

Learn it or LEAVE!

As an ex-employee of pep boys in order to get things done that arent by the book as a customer you must go to the top and make a stink about things to get what you want. Talk to the manager or store manager and explain the situation and they can do a refund without a reciept. As long as you show them your drivers license they can force the refund in the computer so dont let them tell you other wise.
