pepsistuff.com and dewstuff.com is running a promotion until 1/31/02 for points found under bottle caps. They are giving away discounts at popular websites and also free music downloads for points. After cashing in nearly 2000 points on music downloads I found that I could not play the downloads because I did not have a permit. Although the permit is offered as a download with the music, the permit download never goes through and therefore you have given up your points and cannot play the music downloaded. After calling the promotion 800 number twice, I was finally told that it is my ISP that is not letting me download the permit, and that I will not be credited back my points. In my opinion, it should be noted in the promotion website that some ISP's will not allow the permit to be downloaded, and this warning should come up PRIOR to you downloading the music...if that is actually what the problem is!

Pepsi music downloads do expire

This is in response partially to the issue of licenses related to a Pepsistuff/Yahoo promotion from 2002 regarding music downloads. While I was at first successful in downloading over 40+ songs via bottle cap codes, these downloads were also for computer use only-I couldn't burn the songs on a CD.
And after about 2 years, I couldn't listen to the songs anymore, because the licenses ended up lapsing. The songs from that Pepsi/Yahoo/Sony Music promotion were downloaded onto my Windows Media Player, and since I was using a dial up connection at the time, the songs took half an hour or more each to download.
Recently I went to my Windows Media Player to listen to some of the songs I downloaded from that old Pepsi promotion, and I got a pop-up saying that I don't have a license to play this song, and it linked to the Pepsistuff site that was in use at that time-linking there mentioned that the promotion expired.
But at least I enjoyed the songs while I did have them, and I am currently downloading songs via their current promotion related to Apple/I Tunes, which CAN be put on an Ipod/MP3 player or a CD if need be.
