My boyfriend ordered an engine rebuild kit for my '83 Ford Bronco from P.A.W..I have a standard 302 engine. He ordered specifically stanard parts.
The cam and lifters sent with the kit were not marked ,so he made sure that the company had got the correct request again. They assured us both that the correct parts were sent. However, this was not the case.
The parts sent were hydrolic,which do not belong on a standard 302 engine. In turn the parts caused the heads on my engine to become warped, and I have been without a vehicle for over a month now.
My engine has to have new heads as well as other repairs now. This is due to the fact that P.A.W. sent the wrong parts. Now they don't want to give our $ back, only part of what we spent on the kit.
We don't want it all, just what the cam and lifters cost us. They say it was our mistake.?? How dumb can you be?. Parts not marked and they assure you that they are correct. Who's at fault?

To begin a standard 302 c.i. Ford engine kit would include hydraulic lifters because those lifters are standard. A 1983 Ford Bronco with a 302 should have came factory with hydraulic lifters.
Now thats not to say sometime in the 11-12 years between this post and the manufacter date that someone has put soild or roller rocker lifters in that 302. I have been in the automotive world for many years and it still amazes me how a person with absolutley no knowledge of their vehicle can pass the blame to an auto parts retailer.
I'm sorry but it was not a mistake made by P.A.W. they sent you a standard rebuild kit. They would have know way of knowing that engine did not have hydraulic lifters, because again that is what came in that 302 from the factory.
