Performant Recovery Systems called one in August 2013 claiming the represent The US Treaury Department.
Sarah Bortolus related that in 2007 The Line-up Group had incorrectly closed our Defined Benefit Plan.
She reported due to that incorrect closure the Line-up Group owed almopst $13,000 in fines.
She threatened to file a law suit against our company if the "Fine/Debt" was not paid.
Since I have received two letters.
Both use The US Department of Treasury and Deparment of Labor as significant agencies partnering with Performant Recovery System in this "debt" collection.
The Line-up Group did close it's Defined Benefit plan in 2007. We worked closely with our Plan Administrator to ensure the plan distributed money correctly. We have received no notices from and US agency stating other wise.
They reference a "Treasury NO. in their letter. There is no record of this number in the Treasury System.
Performant Recovery System is using government agency names to falsley imply authority and of a debt.
There is no debt and they have no authority.
I have already spent more time on this letter than I should. Yet a company claiming to have US Government backing needs to be stopped.
I am willing and able to pursue a law suit against Performant Recovery System.
