Sent $475 to search for birth mother on 4-12-04. Led me on for one year with owner Perry and then "search expert" Christine Dillon. She assured me they were working on my case. Kept leading me on with email responses. Said they were in business for 20 years. I got their company name from a daytime talk show. Totally duped. Phone disconnected. No where to be found. Never did ANYTHING. BEWARE of PERRY FARALDI and CHRISTINE DILLON. Total scam artists. I will be filing an internet fraud charge soon.

I'm so sorry to hear you were taken in by this company Michele. Yours is a story I've heard many times thru the years and the end result is always the same, you lose your money to them and you aren't reunited with your birth family.
There is a website that has all the up to date news for adult adoptees and the battle to get our records opened. If you have never been on it, please check it out, lots of great info there. http://www.bastards.org/
Do you know any information on your birth family? If you do, you can do some searching on your own. I helped a man who knew his last birth name, who was born in California. We know that a lot of birth moms are young when they relinquish their babies for adoption, so we went to all the high schools in the surrounding area and checked for young girls in the yearbooks they have on file, for a few years prior to the year of his birth.
We found a young lady with the correct last name and she looked JUST like him. We then started to look for her and found her still in the area. She wasn't his mother, she was one of his mom's triplet sisters! LOL. She in turn put us in touch with his mom and his mom put us in touch with his dad. I was so honored to be at the reunions that followed. His dad has since passed on, but he is still in touch with his mom.
I too am a reunited adoptee. Growing up in the dark with questions no one can answer about why you look, think and act the way you do isn't easy. Keep fighting till you get your records opened and if you need help, find a searcher who is known for truly helping adoptees. Most of them are adoptees themself first, then use their knowledge to help others.
I wish you all the best in your search to find out who you are.
