On March 5 my wife took her vehicle to Perry Rose Firestone on Ben White because the vehicle was running "sluggish". Her vehicle is a 1994 GMC Pickup. She requested a certain mechanic do the work.
She was told by, the manager, that repairs totaling $1187.99 were recommended and needed to be done. Just before completion, she was presented with a bill(Inv # 129294), so we could leave for church and pick up the vehicle after.
When returning from church, they were closed and the vehicle was locked inside with the hood up showing they were not yet done.
The next day they informed us of challenges they faced and needed a few hours to fix them. When they claimed it was ready, it still ran rough and the requested mechanic was asked for.
It was then we found that the requested mechanic did not even work that day after being told he was "finalizing the job". On Monday the 7th, the requested mechanic was spoken to so we could find out what the problem was. He was unaware of our challenge and NEVER recommended the work done.
On Wednesday, March 9, Capitol Chevrolet was asked by Firestone to determine what the problem was. The vehicle was taken to them.
The next day, we were informed by the Chevy mechanic that the problem had nothing to do with Firestone's recommendation and the work done was not even needed. Firestone then refused to pay for the diagnosis after assuring us they would.
On Friday, when the work was completed,a leak appeared from the work Firestone did. Firestone was asked to credit us for all but the $520.99 we acknowledge was needed. Since we were scheduled to go out of town for a business confrence that would require extensive driving, Chevrolet refused to give us the vehicle because it was unsafe.
Due to the lies, lack of knowledge and professionalism and outright negative attitude, we have been without the vehicle for over a week and have had to cancel our business trip. There is at least two more days to go.

Ruined vehicle

On 3-16, my wife was contacted by Capitol Chevrolet who suggested she purchase a new vehical. The vehicle she had only went in for minor repairs and was ruined by the Firestone Repair Center. If they want to buy a new vehicle because of their mistakjes, so be it. We didn't anticipate a new vehicle when nothing was wrong with the one we had.
