Every year, IPATA members recceive many, heart-breaking phone calls, indicating that the caller has sent money by Western Union to a seller of a purebred puppy, and our companies have been named by the scammers as the company that will be shipping them their puppy, which does not exist.

I do know for an absolute, fact that IPATA takes seriously this victimization of the public, and the illegal use of their name as well as individual members names, to further these scams.

We have all taken the phone call of a senior citizen on a fixed income who has sent his $225 by wire to these reprehensible thieves, eagerly, awaiting the arrival of their new friend, only to be told by us, they have been victimized.
