I am charging Walkfit Orthotics with fraudulent advertising because they sell their product to women knowing full well that the Orthotics will never fit inside women's shoes. I believe the company unfairly profits by both their return policies and by the shipping and handling fees generated when women who cannot possible use Walkfits return the product. I also believe the product can cause injury to women with very wide feet.

Apparently Walk-Fit Orthotics may come in different sizes, but they only come in one width. I wear EE shoes (way wider than most women!). I did not at first realize that the Walk Fits were too wide, but I did notice that my feet felt like they were tilting to the outside. I attributed the tilt to the Breaking-In Phase. Of course, the only thing that broke was my alignment (several costly trips to the chiropractor have NOT remediated the situation).

When I finally took a closer look (unfortunately, it was a few week later), I realized that the orthotics were actually tilted inside my shoes. They were slightly wider than my shoe and could not rest properly at the bottom.

I asked a friend with a C width shoe to try them on. She couldn't do it, because the orthotics did not even begin to fit inside her shoe.

Since the average woman's shoe width is B, most women cannot begin to wear the Walk-fit. Customer Service Personnel repeatedly chanted, "That's why they can return them for a full refund within 30 days." Yes, women who order the product can send it right back for a full refund, but the company deducts shipping and handling (another way for the company to unfairly make a lot of money on a product that should not have been sold in the first place).

Walkfit commercials show women "trying out" the orthotics. They never actually insert them into their shoes. They don't show that because the product would not fit inside the shoes of 99% of women. Since the company does not anywhere in the advertising say, "For Men Only," I believe they are duping the public with false advertising. They are selling the product to women knowing that all sorts of complications will prevent the company from receiving the returned product within their 30-day time limit. And consumers who do make the 30-day cut-off still lose out on shipping and handling charges.

Because I followed the instructions to the letter, I did not discover the problem with the fit until after that 30-day limit. Of course, Customer Service reiterates that they "have a strict return policy," and are unable to authorize a refund. From what I understand, NOT receiving a refund from Walkfit is a fairly common occurrence.

Walkfit Orthotics should not be marketed and sold to women!
