Yet another Philadelphia police officer has been convicted of felonies. On January 24, 2014, a federal jury convicted Officer Robertito Fontan of three counts of lying to federal authorities about his love affair with an informant. Google his name for media reports. Fontan faces up to 15 years in prison. He is the 135th Philadelphia police officer who was fired for committing crimes in the last five years. However, most of Philadelphia's criminal police officers are immune from being fired, much less prosecuted, according to an investigation conducted by independent prosecutor Ellen Green-Ceissler. Extrapolating from the aforementioned facts, a high percentage of Philadelphia cops are criminals. In fact, last year Amnesty International proclaimed that Philadelphia's police force is tied with Pakistan's as being the world's most brual and corrupt.
