Philips And Cohen Slanderous and misleading Westampton New Jersey

Definitely a high pressure, slanderous, and misleading collector. They start off with stating they are a law firm and as such they are willing to sue if there is no complaince. Many calls and especially voicemails state that if there is no money sent to them in a specified period of time (usually the end of the day) they will "sue, causing high costs, inconvenience, and further damages"; I had this for 3 Fridays in a row. Then they call to "offer an olive branch", which is usually to ask for a lower amount such as $100 so their client won't also jump into lawsuit land (I called the so-called client and they said they sold off the debt). I was offered a settlement that was in their words limited by the laws of the state, which is so far out of line and not true, I have had companies offer between 15% to %50 on a dollar, their offer was 65%. On just about all conversations they would state if I don't comply it means I have no intention of ever complying, again I refer back to numerous voicemails that "if there is no call back by 9pm then that means you have no intentions of complying and we will move to the next step" (i.e. a law suit). I was called a week ago, had no ability to pay, and was told they would immediately enter a law suit, I contacted a lawyer and he told me to order a cease and desist... I asked they did not call back... they did, and called me a thief. They also state that I on purpose use stall tactics, that is, by not getting expected monies, true, that it means I am the one not sending the money from the other people to me?? .. a doctor evil "r i g h t"... I have several creditors calling, some have resorted to reasonable pressure, I know their job and ways, but have not had this kind of abuse since Valentine and Kebartas... maybe their trainer also trained Philips and Cohen.. Bottom line folks -- don't agree to any money until you can settle, and if they use language that I have written about see a lawyer who specializes in consumer rights related to creditors, there are few of these folks but very useful
