Through my modeling agent I was introduced to Mr. Prince. He told me upon the day of our audition that I was hired, the other girls would have to audition further, but I was for certain one of the girls of twenty he would hire for his new campaign for his new Silk Fashions. He had a studio on Wilshire where he kept a version of the modular store inside of it, as well as hangers of clothing couches, childrens toys, and silk tapestries which he informed me cost thousands and were being hand painted one by one for the store, all made from silk like his clothing.
He had me meet him at his studio at least five or six times. Always informing my agent I would be there. I was never told directly, but through a few of the other "models" (I've been in the biz a long time, the girls he hired were 18, far from model quality as they were short and not exactly fit. But I thought he was just trying to open the door for all looks. I found out he'd had these girls to his home, driving his mercedes (of which he claimed to have three) plus a 150K mustang he insisted on showing me. I couldn't figure out where the money was coming from to do all he said he was doing. That he had purchased his own Station and would be taping several shows one a cooking show, and always with models wearing his designs. He had told several girls they would receive 5K bonus and a five year contract as well as that we would be traveling to China as well, supposedly in August. Soon, having made several trips to Phillips studio, I asked about the contract. He said he would not be working with my agent, that they had told some of the models to F off, and that he would keep a couple of girls of the twenty he had supposedly hired from M Models (I have since found out they are just as suspect as phillip prince), and I was one of the girls, He also had me helping him with office work, calling people, organizing his cell phone, placing ads for a Child Care Full Time Livin, which in the ad he promised free Mercedes one of three, room, money, travel, and they were always chinese or oriental, and usually 18 or so. It didn't matter to him whether they had a ca. drivers lic either. These are his children! And he's using them to get ... well, it's a great way to intice young girls new to LA.
I never heard more from Phillip, though I'd had to put over two months off of auditioning as I was on hold with the Prince Modular Shoot, as well as the trip to China. It all turned out to be a scam. They dropped my agent for asking for a down payment on 20 girls, a normal thing, Phillip got angry and pulled 20 jobs from 20 very eager, patient, expecting 5K plus in income and a possible 5 year contract.
Raising the hopes of young girls in this business is something you see all the time in this industry, but people directly using them and god only knows what else he is up to. I got a strong feeling this was a person that was clearly a sociopath who just lives in some kind of dream deal, which I've recently found out is a source of charges of FRAUD from the DA in Vegas and LA.
My desire, to sue both my agent and Phillip Prince. A verbal agreement of 5K for my time and potential first shoot, only to find out I wasted money for parking, gas and time. Last time I phoned Phillip, he didn't even know he I was. Once he claimed to remember, he assured me that the shoot was still going to take place and he'd call the following week. After weeks of this repeat in conversation, I gave up. But I'd like to see people like this held responsible for their illegal dealings, especially those who change the hopes and dreams of young girls who can easily be destroyed by the fraudulent, sexual attentions, and lost money, I'd like to see retrobution and payback. Jail may even satisfy me as well.
