Phillips And Associates/ Tom Beck DUI defense scam Phoenix Arizona

Went to Phillips & Associates for a DUI charge- they had a "used-car salesman" named Tom Beck outline their strategy for the defense and it sounded logical and well thought out. From there, we were required to pay over $10,000 to get started. He said we would have a dedicated team and one on one interaction with our lawyer as needed. We met with our lawyer one month later. He had NO IDEA what the details of our case were and contradicted everything Tom Beck said.

He stated the defense Tom sold us was not legal and could not be pursued. He also stated that this was not the first time he had heard complaints against Tom. We were very dissapointed and stated we would not have agreed to the service had we not been misled and wanted to take steps to get a refund. Our lawyer assured us of what he would try to do and convinced us to give him a shot. We chose to continue, regretably. The first issue was that the firm was not responsive to phone calls and messages and we never agin were granted an appointment with the lawyer though we requested it several times.

Frequently the secretary, who demonstrated less than an elementary school education, was left to relay incoherent legal messages. The laywer did not follow through on commitments to call us at specified times and failed to show up to a court appearance. The court appearance he did show up to was a good learning lesson for him as the judge had to explain new DUI laws that had been put into place late last year.

One would assume the lawyer representing you would know his specialty. Secondly, as DUI cases have minimum sentences there was really nothing the lawyer could do. I essentailly paid someone to screw me over. Don't go to this lawfirm for anything. Its a mistake I will be paying for a very long time.
