I bought a rebuilt automatic transmission for my 1998 honda accord 4cylinder. Order it on October 18th, 2005, came on the 27th, installed by a mechanic by the 19th. The car does not want to shift into second, and makes clunking noise when shifting from Park to Reverse to Drive. Called RPT, sent me a second one. Came on Novemeber 10, 2005. Installed and tested on November 16, 2005. My mechanic said is shifts smooth, but will not drive at all. Spent over $1000 in labor already. I am going to contact the company to try to get a full refund with labor. I don't want to try a 3rd time, since seeing all these bad reports on the company. I will update for anyone interested. Anyone else have the same issue, please email me, maybe we can all take some legal action together.

Here is how you get your money back

Okay, its been months, took about 5 months to get my full refund. Not from Phoenix Remanufactured transmission, but through my credit card company. So if anyone else purchased their transmission, you can call your credit card company up and file a fraud against them. All I did was submit all my paper work along with a letter from my mechanic. Frank (owner of PRT, sent in his claims to my credit card company, but he being stupid, sent in all the wrong information. He showed my credit card company a test of the transmission dated december 1, 2005, and I did not send them the transmission until december 5, 2005. So my credit card company knew he was faking all his documents so they gave me a full refund.
However, I am still down on my labor, which was over $1000, but I am still happy that Frank did not get a single cent from me.
I am going to file a claim to the Arizona General Attorney. I gave them a call, and they said they can help. If as many people can file this, they will definitely help us get our money back or just shut them down. Here is a link

offers me $825 refund
AUTHOR: George - (U.S.A.)

Frank called me after a month trying to contact the company to see where is my refund. Frank tells me that the two units I said was broken worked perfectly. He tells me that is my mechanic that doesn't know what he is doing. So I told him that my mechanic is licensed. Frank then tells me that maybe its not your tranny, its your car, then I told him that my mechanic rebuilt my own transmission, and the car runs fine now. He then offers me $825 refund, but after talking awhile, he told me that he doens't like my attitude, and told me that he is not going to give me anything. He told me to sue him. Tens minutes have passed since I spoke to Frank, someone from his company calls me and tell me that the $825 has been refunded, but they are stil denying full refund on my first transmission which cost $1710, and $1061.01 on labor I wasted. I have contacted Better Business Bureau, and also the Consumer Protection Advocacy. I have a few people I found that is willing to help in this suit, If you would like to help, please email me at aznrac312@yahoo.com
