Finding this company online, I spoke with Phoenix Hardparts' Operations Manager Gabriel because I was needing a rebuilt transmission. Gabriel stated that he had one in stock, on the shelf and could ship it immediately. I paid over $2500 via credit card over two months ago.

After many calls and emails asking to speak with Gabriel or the owner Frank Kuperman as days turned into weeks, and getting no or little response (one time I was hung up on five times by their accounting person Sheila), I finally received the transmission a month later. I immediately sent the original transmission back to Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions (PRT) for return of my promised core deposit of $750.

I took the "rebuilt" transmission from PRT to the reputable company where my car was waiting for the tranny and the folks there installed it. I received a call back a day later with the news that the transmission would not shift from lst to 2nd---so it goes a mighty 20 mph, and I had to rent a spot close by to park it----but still had to pay $1000 to the transmission people that installed the faulty part.

Now, nearly nine weeks after purchasing this faulty tranny, it has taken several phone calls to discover that Gabriel at PRT advises he will have to rebuild the original transmission I sent to him.

Gabriel nor Frank will return or take phone calls to tell me when I might receive the transmission or how they will cover the cost of the installation and the shipping back and forth of this new rebuilt transmission, if I ever get it. After reading all the bad blogging about these people, I realize I will probably never get my money back or a properly rebuilt tranny without intercession of authorities, the courts and other consumer advocates.

I have contacted the attorney general in Arizona, the Phoenix Police Dept., and the Trade Commission in Northern California. The Arizona Attorney General has been very helpful and responsive.

I am in the same situation. Almost 7 months later and 3 faulty transmissions later, and nearly half of my "platinum" warrenty down the drain, I cannot get a call back, or an effective product, and refusel of refund. So I have filed a complain with the BBB of Arizona. I may be interested in a class action suit, and filing a complaint with the attorney gen if you have more information on how to go about that?
