I am another private detective that was very much ripped off by Piedmont. Below is the correspondence I have recieved after sending the report for surveillance:
I just looked over this reportlooks fabulous!! I can't wait to see the videothanks so much!!!
Lillie Dailey
Senior Case Manager

(I guess I didn't realize that she was so thankful becuase it was free work and that Piedmont had no intention of paying!)
Now over 60 days later when I request payment I get a return read receipt that I set up on my end showing they got the email but no response. See my last email sent below:
---------------------------------------------------
Lillie:
Please pay the XXXX invoice attached. This is way over-due. I would appreciate your professionalism in acknowledging when you will be making payment if it has not been sent. If no reply I will assume that you do not intend to pay the invoice and then I will seek further action.
Guess what Piedmont obviously does not intend to pay~No reply just the return reciept that I set up on my end.
I am NOT afraid of sub-contract agreement. I will be calling Piedmont's clients!
I REPEAT DO NOT DO ANY WORK FOR THIS COMPANY!

Piedmont Private Investigations is a Good Firm! I made a mistake!

I orginally posted that I was not paid for work that was subcontracted to me by Piedmont Private Investigations.
Unfortunately there was a communication issue with one of the office staff. She was on Vacation when I sent her an email.
The Owner Tom Caune, had actually attempted to contact me in her absence to advise me that a check had been sent to me in full for my services!
When I read the other reports on RipOff Report I THOUGHT I was a victim. I was really a victim of not checking my voicemail and email.
It was my mistake. Mr. Caune did contact me directly and took care of everything. He was VERY Polite and Professional and said he understood.
I can't say I am sorry enough for making this report. Even though I thought it was valid at the time I realize now that I jumped the gun.
I know that Mr. Caune does employ a lot of subcontractors and does pay them. I signed the same contract as everyone else, did my work, sent it in on time and was paid!
I am thankful for the work in these hard times and would work for Mr. Caune and Piedmont Private Investigations again!
I encourage any investigator to reach out to Mr. Caune before making a claim on ripoff report. We need to support each other in times of need instead of trying to distroy someone's reputation.
If an investigator was not paid by Piedmont Private Investigations there is surely a reason!
I made a mistake for which I am truly sorry!

I am the owner of Piedmont Private Investigations and am not aware of my firm refusing to pay a subcontractor recently in Missouri or Kansas! Please contact my office on Monday and ask for me. I will look into this personally and make sure that you are paid if you are in fact owed money. I have also spoken to my Senior Case Manager today, that has advised me that she has not received the email listed above and has not advised any investigator that we are refusing to pay them. That doesn't mean that the sender did not send it. It simply means that we did not receive it.
I want to make something clear, ANY investigator that is owed money by my firm should contact me DIRECTLY about payment disputes, unless you have received a written notice that we are refusing to pay. We pay investigators that do work for us. We subcontract a lot of work and can make a mistake.
We have subcontracted work to 1000's of Private Investigators worldwide, much like many other agencies. In the 10 years that we have been in business we have REFUSED to pay 4 subcontractors.
The reason that we refused to pay the subcontractors is because they have violated their contracts with us. I would encourage ANY subcontractors, other than those we have notified in writing that have not been paid to contact me DIRECTLY!
If there was an oversight I will be happy to correct it.
There are other ripoff reports that have been generated by the 4 subcontractors and their friends that we have refused to pay. The Friends have NEVER done work for my firm and have NEVER been owed any money. They believe that they can pressure me, by making threats and using ripoff report.
Our position is that we will not pay these subcontractors because they have violated our subcontract agreements. If these subcontractors feel they are entitled to their compensation that we have refused to pay there are legal remedies through the court system. If the court system determines that we are legally obligated to pay these subcontractors we will gladly write them a check.
I would strongly recommend (Especially since it has been 1 year since the first ripoff report was made) that they file a lawsuit. I believe I am right.. They believe they are right. That is what the court system is for. I choose to be professional and not resort to name calling and threats.
I would strongly recommend that readers understand there are two sides to every story. I will not put this dispute in the public forum on RipoffReport. You would think that a PROFESSIONAL investigator would know how to use the court system to resolve a dispute over money.
Would you really want an investigator working for you that doesn't understand the court system and uses Ripoff Report to settle their disputes? I can understand a consumer with no knowledge using Ripoff Report as a last resort. However these investigators have been notified IN WRITING that we will not be paying them. They must know that they are NOT entitled to the money or they would simply utilize the proper procedures through the court system to recover what they believe they are owed.
Remember there are two sides to every story. We will not violate our own agreement or be resort to unprofessional name calling and threats.
Tom Caune
