The following is a letter I just sent to Pinnacle Financial Group:

I keep receiving phone calls for a person named Kxxxxx Bxxxxxx. I have notified you multiple times that this phone number has been re-assigned and that Kxxxxx Bxxxxxx no longer is associated with this phone number. I have requested that you verify this information with the phone company or 911.
And I have asked you to stop calling this number and stop filling my answering machine with messages.

This past Friday, Sept. 19th, 2008, I dealt with two of your phone reps - Lindsey and Stacy - and possibly a third rep. The first rep was just plain rude and nasty when I told her she had reached the wrong number. She interrupted my explanation of the situation by saying I had obviously gotten up on the wrong side of the bed and that she didn't care what the situation was and hung up on me. So I called back and asked to speak to a manager. I was placed on hold, then disconnected. So I called back again, explained the situation and was hung up on a THIRD time.

I don't care what your line of business is or what your rationale is for this type of unacceptable and unprofessional phone behavior. I am not the person you seek, I have done nothing wrong and I owe no one any money. I am an innocent victim of your company's irresponsible harassment policy.

My phone number is 828-xxx-xxxx. My name is Shuemolly W. I don't have any idea who Kxxxxx Bxxxxxx is, but you are only one of several collectors looking for her. You are however, the most discourteous. Any further calls
of this nature will be reported the Federal Trade Commission and I may file a complaint regardless.

As for your rude personnel, they need to stop and think before they upset people. I am sure they are used to the runaround. But some of the people you are harassing are actually INNOCENT victims. My story is pretty simple. I can't believe how this situation has been handled! Find your Kxxxxx Bxxxxxx and leave me alone. Quit calling my phone number!

Next time they call, read the following statement:

Pursuant to [your state] state law, this is to inform you that this phone call is being recorded. If you do not consent to being recorded, you need to terminate this call. Pursuant to [your state] state law, continuation of this phone call after officially being informed that it is being recorded implies consent to be recorded. This recording will be used to pursue Fair Debt Collection Practice Act violations in a court of law.
