Since the Auction it has been recently re-listed, we have paid to have these looked at and our gut was correct.... NOT REAL! The Auction Site and The House have been alerted they refuse to take down.

Unlicensed Business!

LiveAuctioneers
220 12th Avenue
2nd floor
New York, NY 10001
I called to file a complaint with the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs only to learn that this is an unregistered business. They have no record of the company at that address. Definitely no auctioneer at that address.
You can file a complaint online at http://www.nyc.gov/html/dca/html/resources/complaint.shtml

Live Auctioneers--NEEDS GUARANTEES To Buyers or needs to Close!

Hello,
I have had problems on this site as well, and personally will not use it unless I see changes.
Simple as it is, Live Auctioneers needs to Stand Behind The Sellers That They Are Supporting and ALSO OFFER MEDIATION FOR COMPLAINTS. Something Also Needs To Be Done To Allow Buyers To Leave Feedback For Sellers!
The name Live Auctioneers advertises and implies that they are an online site for smaller reputable auction houses to sell worldwide. Their FALSE ADVERTISING AS TO WHO AND WHAT THEY ARE IS MISLEADING FOR BUYERS. In reality, the auctions that I bid on did not even have an actual licensed auctioneer as the bidding agreement implies. The agreements in all of the auctions that I bid in had a statement that "the auctioneer has the final say in any auction or lot". When I read "auctioneer" I actually thought that Live Auctioneers supplied real auctioneers. When I called Live Auctioneers I was told that each State has it's own licensing requirements and a licensed auctioneer may not be necessary in the State where the seller is located.
Another Solution Is To Have Everything SPELLED OUT AS TO WHO LIVE AUCTIONEERS IS! I had to Google Live Auctioneers to actually get a phone number to their administrative office. This is not a good sign that they do not have a phone number to contact them on their site.
In doing a Google search on Live Auctioneer complaints, I also found actual law suits filed against them by some of their sellers, for THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.
Ebay originally had Live Auctioneers and got rid of it. I am seeing actual law suits from sellers and many complaints from buyers with no recourse. I am not an attorney, but it seems to me that currently this is all about money for Live Auctioneers and nothing else. Live Auctioneers needs to: TOTALLY RE-DO THEIR VENUE TO FULLY INFORM THE BUYERS AS TO WHAT THEIR POSITION IS AND MORE TRANSPARENCY NEEDS TO BE MADE AVAILABLE TO BUYERS AS TO WHO THE SELLERS ACTUALLY ARE. SELLER PROTECTION IS TOTALLY MISSING AND NEEDS TO BE ADDED AND DESCRIBED IN THEIR POLICIES.

Seeing the product in front of your face is one thing but i would be cautious of a company that looks at a pic on the net and tells you if its fake or not. Babe Ruth signatures are worth a ton and I know there are a ton of people who would be tempted to cash in on fakes. There is a reason why they are saying that they would have to see it before they determine the authenticity........so untill then it is a matter of opinion. But its a felony if its sold and turns out to be fake.
