I purchased my Pioneer Elite SC-67 Home Theatre Reciever from an authorized retailer. It failed to turn on and flashes a UE-22 error code. It failed right after the warranty expired.

Many people are complaining of the same problem Repair costs are around 600.00 out of warranty. The failure rate is so high that these should be recalled or covered under a goodwill extended warranty through Pioneer Electronics.

Pioneer Electronics has admitted it is a defective main board with Texas Instrument chipsets but their answer to the problem is bend over and pay the 600.00 repair bill and hope it doesnt fail in two more years.

Its is my fourth high end reciever and it is the only one that has failed. Even my 1990 model is still working. I was planning on buying a new Atmos reciever until this happened and have seen the failure rates on 2012 year recievers. It is now 2016 and I just stare at this boxed up pile of crap. Way to treat a loyal 26 year customer.
