I'm writing to you on behalf of my son who is 15 years old. He wrote a wonderful poem and now realizes that he is being scammed. He now knows that this "company" is only after his money. We (his parents) were not aware he was sending this in and will do what we can to keep him from giving up what I believe is a talent that comes from the heartache he has experienced in the past.
How long will they continue to get away with this bull crap? Today he opened a letter from International Society of Poets. He was so excited when he thought he was going to Disney World. Then he saw the "only a small fee is required to hold a spot open for you".
Don't these people know that teens have been known to take their lives over disappointment? Now I have the job of trying to make my son understand that he still writes very nice poetry and to not give up. Because unfortunately he has an ego that is very, very, shaky.

My son recieved another letter from International Society of Poets. They are "sorry he can't attened" the Orlando,FL, convention. However they don't wan't him to "miss out entirely", so for only 169.00 for time and effort, they will have someone present his poem for him. Isn't that sweet? Plus as a bogus,(oops)that was supposed to be bonus, if he sends shipping and handling he will recieve a beautiful silver bowl throphy. And on the down side, my son hasn't written any poetry for four months now. He doesn't see any point to it. Thank you International Society of Poets. This is the talent you trashed......
