I took my car into Pohanka Acura for some regular maintenance. While waiting for my car I step outside for a breather when I see someone pull my car up. I notice white paint on my driver side door, so I take a closer look. Not only is there white paint on the driver side door, there is now a dent to go along with it. I call over the man who registered my car for service and show him the damage to my car. Before saying anything he walks around my car, and points out the fact that I've already got a few dents in the car already. I am aware of those dents, but it doesn't mean I will turn a blind eye to any more damage to my car. Again, he pauses for a second, walks back inside the building, and then reappears with two other men. One of the men named, John, seems to be the dept. head. He starts off by saying the exact same thing as the previous man. He also tells me there is no possible way that could have happened while under his care, and the process it went through. He told me since it was a wait job, the car was driven straight back into the garage, and then onto a lift. I ask him if he could just please talk to whoever serviced my car and find out what really went on. He agrees, goes back into the garage, and comes out 5min later. This time he has a different story. As it turns out my car was parked in the back waiting to be serviced. But then he tells me it was parked next to two cars that were not being serviced at the time, but by this point I'm convinced everything that's coming out of his mouth is anything but the truth. He then also tells me he can work something out with me to get me a fair price on getting out the dent. But it's the principle behind the whole thing. I don't care if they worked out a deal to where I would only pay $1. I'm not paying a penny for something that they did. So at this point, since I already know he is a liar, all I can do is go to the counter and pay for what they did perform. While I'm at the counter the man who originally sent my car into service again comes up to me and tells me they can work something out. I'm not having any of it, and will never go back to Pohanka Acura, OR Pohanka Lexus(we have a lexus as well) ever again. Having given so much business to them all these years, and then being lied to like that has got me feeling pretty d**n lousy.

Did they prepare a "condition report"? I know Pohanka Lexus does for sure and Chevy used to but not sure now, that is done to protect you and them for this very issue. Its a little too late now but its hard to dispute it either way without this document it becomes your word against theirs. In any shop I go to I walk with the Service Writer or shop owner and document condition of the car and sign it. I have seen the way these guys drive the cars on the lot and even witnessed the abuse to my car first hand, different brand of car and quite a while ago, and got the guy fired on the spot.
Honestly I have had no issues with Pohanka in damages they have always been above board in helping me address other issues though and very fairly. If it was under warranty they are concerned that you might get a survey and that would hurt them in ratings. I would have listened to what they had to say.
